LVI Associates is seeking an experienced Grid Connection Manager to take ownership of grid connection activities for utility-scale wind projects in Germany, working with grid operators, authorities, and engineering teams to secure MV/HV connections.

The role requires 3+ years of grid connection experience in renewables, strong knowledge of German regulatory frameworks, and fluency in German and English. Travel across Hessen and NRW is expected.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years in grid connection management within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on onshore wind.
• MV/HV grid connection processes for renewables; LV-only experience is not sufficient.
• Understanding of grid connection requirements, capacity assessments, and connection agreements with German TSOs and DSOs.
• Experience coordinating grid connection activities across the project lifecycle from feasibility to energisation.
• Ability to manage technical discussions with grid operators, external consultants, authorities and internal teams.
• Knowledge of German regulatory/technical frameworks for renewable energy grid connections.
• Strong project and stakeholder management; ability to oversee multiple projects.
• Experience identifying and mitigating grid-related technical and commercial risks.
• Fluent German and English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly across Hessen and NRW.

Our client is an established and highly respected renewable energy developer with a strong footprint across Germany's onshore wind market. With a growing project pipeline and a long-term commitment to the energy transition, they are looking to strengthen their grid team with an experienced Grid Connection Manager.

In this position, you will take ownership of grid connection activities for utility-scale wind projects, working closely with grid operators, authorities, engineering teams, and project stakeholders to secure and optimise medium and high-voltage grid connections. The role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the delivery of strategically important wind projects across Germany, within a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in grid connection management within the renewable energy sector, with a strong focus on onshore wind projects.
• Proven track record managing medium-voltage (MV) and high-voltage (HV) grid connection processes for renewable energy projects. Experience limited to low-voltage connections is not sufficient.
• Strong understanding of grid connection requirements, capacity assessments, and connection agreements with German TSOs and DSOs.
• Experience coordinating grid connection activities throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility assessment and permitting through to energisation.
• Ability to manage technical discussions with grid operators, external consultants, authorities, and internal engineering teams.
• Knowledge of German regulatory and technical frameworks relevant to renewable energy grid connections.
• Strong project management and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience identifying and mitigating grid-related technical and commercial risks.
• Fluent German and English communication skills are essential.
• Candidates should be based in or willing to travel regularly across Hessen and NRW.
