Ignite. in Berlin seeks a German-speaking Sustainability Consultant (m/f/d) to guide client projects from data collection to model validation. The role offers a fully remote option within Germany and focuses on CSRD compliance, carbon management, and scalable advisory delivery.

You will own end-to-end engagements, audit calculations, and collaborate with product teams to translate client needs into practical features.

Qualifications

• Native-level German for client advisory work (C2) and fluent English (C1/C2).
• 2+ years in sustainability advisory or corporate ESG roles (CCF/PCF/LCA).
• Hands-on carbon calculation experience with modeling.
• Willingness to build scalable delivery frameworks.
• Strong, structured communication and organizing skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end consulting engagements for Corporate Carbon Footprints (CCF), Product Carbon Footprints (PCF), and Net-Zero planning via our SaaS product.
• Collect and process sustainability data to generate CCF/PCF models and audit AI mapping accuracy (emission factors).
• Re-evaluate, standardize, and automate delivery workflows for scalability.
• Serve as expert contact, refining support platforms and reusable knowledge assets.
• Prepare and lead presentations on ESG topics for executives and sponsors.
• Translate client feature requests into actionable specs for product engineering.

About the Role

We are an innovative Berlin Climate Tech startup enabling enterprise sustainability teams to streamline complex operational workflows, manage CSRD compliance, and hit carbon reduction goals through our AI co-pilot software backed by hands-on expert consulting.

We are on the lookout for a self-motivated Sustainability Consultant (m/f/d) to join our client delivery team. In this role, you will guide corporate clients through carbon management processes, validate platform calculations, and help scale our internal advisory operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Project Ownership: Oversee end-to-end consulting engagements for corporate clients covering Corporate Carbon Footprints (CCF), Product Carbon Footprints (PCF), and Net-Zero planning via our SaaS product.
• Data Analysis & Quality Control: Collect and process corporate sustainability data to generate CCF/PCF models while auditing AI mapping accuracy (including emission factor verification).
• Operational Optimization: Work alongside team members to re-evaluate, standardize, and automate existing consulting delivery workflows for maximum scalability.
• Client Enablement: Serve as an expert key contact, refining support platforms and compiling reusable knowledge assets for client self-service.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Prepare and lead compelling, structured presentations on complex ESG topics for corporate executives and key project sponsors.
• Bridge to Product Teams: Synthesize client feature requests and operational feedback into actionable technical specifications for our product engineering group.

Profile & Requirements

Must-Haves

• Languages: Native-level German (C2 mandatory) for client advisory work, alongside fluent English skills (C1/C2).
• Domain Expertise: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in sustainability advisory or corporate ESG roles, specifically handling CCF, PCF, or Life Cycle Assessments (LCA).
• Applied Skillset: Proven experience executing carbon calculations directly (must have hands-on modeling experience, not solely project oversight).
• Builder Mindset: Willingness to dive into operational task execution while building scalable, long-term frameworks.
• Communication & Management: Strong organizational capabilities with a clear, engaging, and highly structured communication approach.

Nice-to-Haves

• Prior consulting exposure to mid-market or corporate enterprise accounts.
• Experience in Climate Tech, Clean-Tech SaaS, or sustainability projects tailored to FMCG, retail, or food sectors.
• Background in developing customer enablement resources (help hubs, knowledge centers) or integrating automated workflow tools.
