Ignite in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany, seeks an experienced SAP ABAP developer to shape the group’s digital strategy as an Inhouse Consultant – SAP ABAP Development & Forms. You will join an international, cross-functional IT team to develop, enhance, and maintain SAP applications and drive interface integrations across subsidiaries.

You will contribute to core business processes optimization, enjoy flat hierarchies and strong personal responsibility, and work in a hybrid setup with emphasis

Competenze

• University degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems (Wirtschaftsinformatik), or comparable qualification.
• At least 2 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
• Strong command of ABAP technologies, interfaces (IDoc, RFC, Web Services) and forms (SmartForms, SAPscript, Adobe Forms).
• Fluent German and English at professional level (written and spoken).

We are looking for a dedicated Inhouse Consultant – SAP ABAP Development & Forms to join an international, cross-functional IT team in Villingen-Schwenningen. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, enhancing, and maintaining modern SAP applications, driving interface integrations, and optimizing core business processes across international subsidiaries. Key Responsibilities

• Application Development: Design, develop, extend, and maintain robust applications within the SAP environment using ABAP and ABAP Objects (ABAP OO).
• Requirements Engineering: Analyze business requirements in close collaboration with internal departments and SAP consultants, translating them into scalable technical solutions.
• Form Development: Create, customize, and manage SAP forms, including SmartForms, SAPscript, and Adobe Forms.
• Interface Integration: Build and enhance robust interfaces using modern technologies such as IDoc, RFC, BAPI, OData, REST, and web services.
• System Optimization & Support: Perform performance optimizations on existing programs, conduct root-cause analysis, debug, troubleshoot, and handle second-level support incidents (JIRA).
• Quality Assurance: Conduct code reviews, ensure adherence to internal development standards, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
• Global Rollouts & Projects: Actively support international group-wide projects and rollouts as part of the Global Templates initiative.

Candidate Profile

Must-Haves

• Education: Successfully completed university degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems (Wirtschaftsinformatik), or a comparable qualification.
• Experience: At least 2 years (preferably more) of professional hands‑on experience in SAP ABAP development and ABAP Objects.
• Technical Core Competencies: Strong command of classic ABAP technologies, interface integration (IDoc, RFC, Web Services), and form development (SmartForms, SAPscript, Adobe Forms).
• Language Proficiency: Fluent command of both German and English at a professional negotiation level (written and spoken).
• Working Style: Structured, solution-oriented, and responsible mindset with a passion for working in an international, cross‑functional team environment.

Nice-to-Haves

• Practical knowledge of SAP Fiori and OData/REST services.
• Experience with the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP).
• Good understanding of end‑to‑end business processes, ideally within Supply Chain Management or Logistics.
