As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you are the interface between customer requirements and our product. You understand the requirements, evaluate them technically and ultimately implement them yourself - from architecture and integration designs to implementation and productive operation.
In addition, you are the technical contact person for our customers in all matters relating to IT security, infrastructure and data governance, and you work closely with our product, platform and customer success teams.
This is not a project management role – it is a hands‑on engineering job where you build, operate and ensure that our integrations run reliably and scalably.
Your Tasks
Implement end‑to‑end integrations: scoping, design, implementation, testing, deployment and monitoring.
Develop interfaces & APIs: Connect CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, SAP, Dynamics) and adjacent systems (SSO/IdP, data lakes, ticketing, messaging).
Support security & compliance: Respond to security questionnaires, create data flow diagrams, assist with DPIAs/DPAs; Compliance with encryption, data residency (EU) and ISO27001 processes.
Configure network & infrastructure: Secure connectivity (VPNs, private links, IP whitelisting), authentication (OAuth/OIDC, SAML), secrets management.
Documentation & handover: Technical documentation and runbooks for customers & internal teams.
Go‑lives & hypercare: Support for pilots and rollouts, early monitoring and rapid problem solving.
Interdisciplinary collaboration: You will work closely with teams from sales, project management, customer success, product and the rest of the development team to ensure the technical implementation of projects.
Feedback back into the product: Recognising recurring patterns and turning them into reusable modules or platform features.
Hands‑on engineer: You have experience in developing integrations or backend systems and enjoy solving technical problems directly.
Systemic thinking: You understand complex data and process flows and can design robust, observable systems.
API and integration know‑how: You are familiar with REST/GraphQL, webhooks, authentication methods (OAuth2/OIDC/SAML) and schema/versioning strategies.
Security mindset: You are familiar with encryption, identity & access management, key management and secure development processes.
Strong communication skills: You can present technical decisions in a way that is understandable to both developers and non‑technical stakeholders.
Languages: Fluent/Advanced in German and English
