Job summary

EPAM Systems in Berlin is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer / AI-Architect to bridge business needs with technical AI solutions in a hybrid role. You will rapidly create and showcase AI-powered prototypes using Microsoft technologies, supporting clients in accelerating transformation and decision-making for production-ready solutions.

The role emphasizes end-to-end prototype development, live demonstrations, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate prototypes into actionable

Qualifications

• Experience in at least one of C#/.NET, Java, Python, TS/JS or Node.js.
• Ability to develop a functional solution across frontend, backend, APIs, data and deployment.
• Understanding of cloud-native design and AI prototype development.

Responsibilities

• Work with account teams to understand business problems, data, users and constraints.
• Translate requirements into practical solution concepts and prototype plans.
• Build end-to-end prototypes, proofs of concept and MVPs quickly using AI tools.
• Use AI development tools to accelerate coding, testing, documentation and troubleshooting.
• Design and implement solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies and GitHub tools.
• Optionally use Azure DevOps and Power Platform components.
• Apply security, identity and governance including Entra ID and RBAC.
• Prepare and deliver live customer demonstrations and iterate on feedback.
• Explain technical decisions, risks and production paths clearly.
• Collaborate with sales, product, design, architecture and engineering teams.
• Convert prototypes into production handover materials.
• Share reusable components, patterns and prompts across the organization.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer / AI-Architect in a hybrid role, you help bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions by rapidly creating and showcasing AI-powered prototypes using Microsoft technologies. Your work directly supports clients seeking to accelerate their transformation and make informed decisions about production-ready solutions.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with account teams to understand business problems, workflows, users, data and technical constraints
• Translate loosely defined requirements into practical solution concepts and prototype plans
• Build end-to-end prototypes, proofs of concept and minimum viable products quickly using AI tools
• Use AI development tools, especially GitHub Copilot, to accelerate coding, testing, documentation and troubleshooting
• Design and implement solutions using Microsoft Azure, Azure Functions, App Service, Container Apps, AKS, API Management, Azure AI Foundry, Azure ML, Teams, Microsoft Graph, GitHub, GitHub Actions and GitHub Copilot
• Optionally use Azure DevOps, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse, Microsoft Copilot Studio and Microsoft 365
• Apply appropriate security, identity, privacy and governance practices including Microsoft Entra ID and role-based access control
• Prepare and deliver compelling live customer demonstrations
• Clearly explain technical decisions, limitations, risks and potential production paths
• Gather feedback during demonstrations and rapidly iterate on the solution
• Collaborate with sales, product, design, architecture and engineering teams
• Convert successful prototypes into recommendations and handover materials for production engineering teams
• Share reusable components, patterns, prompts and lessons across the organization

Requirements

• Strong practical development experience in at least one of C# .NET, Java, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript or Node.js
• Ability to develop a functional solution across frontend, backend, APIs, data, authentication and deployment
• Understanding of cloud-native application design
• Experience building generative-AI applications such as RAG, copilots, agents or retrieval-augmented generation solutions
