EPAM Systems is seeking a Solution Architect - AI to shape enterprise AI architectures across Frankfurt, Stuttgart, or Munich in a hybrid setup. You will design Gen-AI and agentic solutions, integrating LLMs and guiding cross-functional teams from pre-sales through delivery.

This role blends hands-on delivery with advisory duties, client workshops, and governance aligned with ISO 27001, GDPR and DORA. Fluency in German and English is essential; 6–10 years IT experience with 3+ in architecture is

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of IT experience with 3+ years in solution/technical architecture.
• Strong experience designing Generative AI solutions including LLM integration and RAG.
• Experience in agentic platforms and AI-for-Business integration into live systems.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure or GCP and related integration patterns.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, GDPR and DORA governance frameworks.
• Strong data-handling practices in regulated environments.
• Excellent client-facing communication in German and English.

Job description

We're looking for a Solution Architect - AI (m/f/d) to join our team in Frankfurt, Stuttgart or Munich, Germany, in a hybrid working mode.

In this role, you will design AI solution architectures for enterprise-scale engagements, focusing on Generative AI and agentic systems. The position combines hands-on technical delivery, advisory and pre-sales activities, using a shift-left approach to share AI knowledge and accelerate capability-building across teams. You will participate in client workshops, architecture reviews and executive discussions, gaining the experience required to progress toward senior architecture leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI solution architectures for enterprise engagements across multiple industries
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to align solutions with client objectives
• Champion a shift-left approach by sharing reusable patterns and mentoring team members
• Architect Gen-AI and agentic solutions including LLM integration, RAG, vector stores and orchestration
• Translate business, security and regulatory requirements into technical designs referencing ISO 27001, GDPR and DORA
• Ensure architecture governance and maintain documentation throughout program phases
• Partner with delivery teams to validate designs and resolve technical trade-offs
• Support pre-sales with architecture blueprints, technical proposals and client presentations
• Engage in client workshops and participate in architecture councils across engagements
• Evaluate emerging AI and cloud technologies for feasibility and share recommendations with the practice

Requirements

• 6-10 years of IT experience including 3+ years in solution or technical architecture
• Strong practical experience designing Generative AI solutions including LLM integration and RAG patterns
• Experience in at least one of the following: building or extending agentic platforms, delivering solutions where AI agents execute implementation with human oversight, integrating AI-for-Business capabilities into live production systems
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure or GCP and related integration patterns
• Knowledge of compliance and governance frameworks including ISO 27001, DORA and GDPR
• Strong understanding of model-risk and data-handling practices in regulated environments
• Excellent communication skills for client-facing engagements
• Fluency in German and English
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field

Nice to have

• Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman)
• Exposure to AI governance and model risk management practices
• Familiarity with modern data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks
• Hands-on experience with AI development tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code
• Certifications in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) or TOGAF
• Previous experience in consulting or client-facing roles
