suena energy in Hamburg offers a hybrid work setup with 2-3 days onsite and a competitive package. We are looking for a Financial Controller (f/m/x) to become the analytical backbone of our Finance team, handling MWh data through forecast scenarios and profitability insights.

You will pull data from Data Science, reconcile MWh against settlements, and tighten Excel models while partnering with our Senior Controller. Fluent English is required; German is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• You've scoped and built something yourself end-to-end in trading or adjacent fields.
• Strong in Excel and confident in Python – pull, clean, and work with raw data yourself.
• You catch what doesn't add up and question numbers.
• Business sense over accounting depth; no tax/bookkeeping needed, but you read a PnL.
• No ERP; Excel-based across multiple sources.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.
• International company experience is a plus.

• Surface product-level profitability for the CFO.
• Own the MWh data analysis and month 3-6 scenario modelling.

Your mission

• Run scenario analyses on our rolling forecast, working with Lena, our Senior Controller, on the assumptions.
• Pull and process raw data yourself – CSVs straight from Data Science, no waiting on a specific cut.
• Reconcile MWh data against power exchange settlements, interval by interval, so every number is traceable.
• Chase down what's off in the numbers – ad hoc, whenever something in trading or finance data needs some deep dive analysis.
• Tighten our Excel models – find the errors, automate the manual parts, build in checks.
• Surface product-level profitability for our CFO.
• Your track: own the MWh data analysis. automate the checks and own scenario modelling by month 3-6

Your profile

• You've scoped and built something yourself end-to-end in trading or an adjacent field (energy trading, commodities, prop trading, quant funds, asset management for renewables/storage) – a reconciliation logic, a forecast model, a recurring analysis you owned, not one you maintained or supported.
• Strong in Excel and confident in Python – you pull, clean, and work with raw data yourself, not just finished exports.
• You catch what doesn't add up – not just running numbers, but questioning them.
• Business sense over accounting depth – no tax/bookkeeping needed, but you read a PnL.
• No ERP, no problem – we're Excel-based across multiple sources right now.
• Fluent English – our working language. German's a plus.
• International company experience: a plus, not a must.
