Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance of small conveyor systems.
  • Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
  • Carry out minor modifications and repairs to existing systems.
  • Provide on-site technical support across Stuttgart and Germany as required.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
  • Repair or replace defective machine components and parts.
  • Ensure customer systems are operating safely and reliably.
  • Carry out fire door (FSA) inspections where required.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and provide professional service.
  • Complete service and maintenance documentation accurately.

Field Service Engineer

Location: Stuttgart, Germany

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and technically minded Field Service Engineer (m/f/d) to join an established international technology business based in Stuttgart.

The company specialises in integrated in-house logistics and automation solutions, with its systems used across a wide range of industries including libraries, hospitals, banking, automotive, manufacturing and retail.

As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing and troubleshooting of automated conveyor and logistics systems. You’ll work directly with customers, providing technical support and ensuring their systems remain safe, reliable and fully operational.

Your Responsibilities
  • Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance of small conveyor and logistics systems.
  • Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance in line with established procedures.
  • Carry out minor modifications, repairs and extensions to existing systems.
  • Provide on-site technical support to customers across Stuttgart and, where required, other locations throughout Germany.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
  • Repair or replace defective machine components and parts.
  • Ensure customer systems are operating safely, efficiently and reliably.
  • Carry out statutory testing requirements, including fire door (FSA) inspections.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and provide a professional, high-quality service.
  • Take ownership of technical issues and identify practical, effective solutions.
  • Complete service and maintenance documentation accurately.
About You

We’re looking for a technically skilled Field Service Engineer who enjoys working directly with customers and solving problems in the field.

You’ll ideally have:
  • A recognised qualification in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics or a comparable technical discipline.
  • Previous experience in a field service, maintenance or technical service environment.
  • A strong technical understanding with practical troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic knowledge of electronics.
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of your responsibilities.
  • A structured, reliable and solution-focused approach.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexibility to travel when required.
  • The ability to remain calm and organised when dealing with unexpected technical issues.
