With a rapidly growing portfolio across mainland Europe, they are seeking an experienced EHS Advisor to join their Health, Safety and Environmental team. This permanent opportunity offers long-term career progression, exposure to landmark projects and the chance to contribute to safety performance across some of Europe's most technically complex construction environments.

The successful candidate will initially support a flagship hyperscale data centre project, with opportunities to progress onto future projects as the business continues to expand throughout Europe.

The Role

As an EHS Advisor, you will support the implementation and monitoring of Environmental, Health & Safety standards across major construction projects, helping ensure compliance, promote safe working practices and drive continuous improvement throughout project delivery.

Working closely with Project Directors, Construction Managers, client representatives and subcontractors, you will provide practical on-site EHS guidance, conduct inspections and audits, and help embed a proactive safety culture across all project teams.

This is a hands-on role suited to a construction safety professional who enjoys working in fast-paced, technically challenging environments and wants to develop their career within a growing European contractor.

Key Responsibilities
Site Safety & Project Support
  • Support the implementation of project-specific Environmental, Health & Safety plans and procedures.
  • Work closely with construction teams and subcontractors to promote safe working practices.
  • Carry out regular site inspections, safety tours and compliance checks.
  • Identify hazards, assess risks and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Promote a positive behavioural safety culture across the project.
Compliance & Assurance
  • Help ensure compliance with applicable German health and safety legislation, environmental regulations and client requirements.
  • Support the implementation of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and monitor safe systems of work.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Assist with audits, inspections and EHS documentation.
Training & Engagement
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety awareness briefings.
  • Engage with site teams to improve safety awareness and encourage positive behaviours.
  • Build effective working relationships with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
  • Support the development and implementation of EHS initiatives across the project.
  • Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate EHS records, reports and site documentation.
  • Monitor safety performance and help identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and the ongoing development of best practice.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as an Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor on construction projects.
  • Experience within mission-critical, industrial, infrastructure or large-scale commercial construction environments.
  • Good understanding of construction health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, practical approach to site safety and risk management.
  • Previous experience on hyperscale data centre or other mission-critical projects.
  • Experience working for a Tier 1 or specialist construction contractor.
  • Familiarity with German or wider European construction compliance requirements.
  • Fluent English; German language skills are advantageous.
Qualifications
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification.
  • Membership of IOSH or an equivalent recognised professional Health & Safety body.
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Experience with German construction health and safety standards.
