Zusammenfassung

Unzer is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers responsible for the core payment processing platform. You will mentor, hire, and guide developers while staying hands-on to resolve complex issues and maintain high reliability.

You will balance technical excellence with business priorities, partner with product stakeholders to shape roadmaps, and drive continuous improvement across engineering practices and tooling.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or similar, with substantial software engineering experience and prior people-management or tech‑lead experience.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop engineers, and to build inclusive, motivated teams.
• Strong technical grounding (e.g., Java, Kotlin, and/or JavaScript, large‑scale systems) sufficient to guide architecture and challenge decisions—without needing to be the hands‑on expert.
• Familiarity with Agentic Software Engineering and AI-driven development lifecycles, and how to adopt them within a team.
• Deep understanding of Agile delivery, CI/CD, and quality practices, plus excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills across teams and functions.
• Experience with cloud‑based, containerised environments (Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS) is a plus.
• Fluent in English, with excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Our Payment Processing team owns the core of Unzer's platform — the systems that authorise, capture and settle every merchant transaction, at high volume and under strict reliability and compliance demands. We're also building AI into both our tooling and our payment flows. The team is cross-functional and owns its services end to end; as Engineering Manager, you'll lead experienced engineers and work closely with Product, Risk and Operations.
