Job summary

ELANTAS North America, LLC in Wesel, Germany seeks a Senior Procurement Digitalization Lead to drive the global procurement strategy through AI, data and digital platforms, delivering value and performance improvements.

You will harmonize processes, act as Product Owner for key solutions, lead SAP Ariba implementations, and scale AI across spend analytics, market intelligence and decision-making while guiding change and ensuring governance.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Several years of professional experience in Procurement, Procurement Excellence, Strategic Sourcing, Digital Procurement, or related area.
• Experience in the chemical industry is beneficial.
• Experience with SAP Ariba Guided Buying and SAP Ariba Sourcing is beneficial.
• Experience with digital procurement platforms and AI-enabled solutions (e.g. SAP Ariba, Microsoft Copilot, Power BI) is beneficial.
• Ability to translate business challenges into digital and AI-enabled solutions and drive adoption.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent German and English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement digitalization strategy using digital technologies, data and AI.

• Lead the implementation and adoption of SAP Ariba Guided Buying and SAP Ariba Sourcing.
• Explore and evaluate next-generation SAP Ariba capabilities, including AI-enabled functionalities.
• Scale AI use cases in spend analytics, market intelligence and procurement decision-making.
• Build KPI frameworks, dashboards and analytics to improve transparency and decision-making.
• Drive adoption of Microsoft Copilot, Generative AI and advanced analytics in procurement.
• Drive organizational change, user adoption and capability building for digital initiatives.
• Change management for cross-functional programs with IT, Data & Analytics and business stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance, governance, data security and responsible AI practices.

Your responsibilities

• Develop and execute ALTANA's procurement digitalization strategy using digital technologies, data and AI to improve performance, value creation and drive the long-term evolution of the global procurement organization
• Develop the global procurement organization by harmonizing procurement processes, methods, tools and digital platforms; act as Product Owner for key solutions
• Lead the implementation and adoption of SAP Ariba Guided Buying and SAP Ariba Sourcing, ensuring process standardization, user satisfaction, and business value realization
• Explore and evaluate the adoption of next-generation SAP Ariba capabilities, including AI-enabled procurement functionalities and intelligent user experiences
• Scale AI use cases in spend analytics, market intelligence and procurement decision-making. Increase productivity via automation, workflow optimization and GenAI
• Build KPI frameworks, dashboards and analytics to improve transparency and decision-making
• Drive adoption of Microsoft Copilot, Generative AI and advanced analytics in procurement
• Drive organizational change, user adoption and capability building to ensure the successful implementation and sustainable business impact of digital and AI-driven procurement initiatives
• Change Management for cross-functional transformation programs with IT, Data & Analytics and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business objectives, processes and technology solutions
• Ensure compliance, governance, data security and responsible AI practices

Your profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Informatics, Engineering, Economics, SCM or related field
• Several years of professional experience in Procurement, Procurement Excellence, Strategic Sourcing, Digital Procurement, Procurement Consulting or a related procurement function is required
• Experience in the chemical industry is beneficial
• Experience with procurement platforms such as SAP Ariba Guided Buying, SAP Ariba Sourcing or comparable digital procurement solutions is beneficial
• Experience with digital procurement platforms, advanced analytics tools and AI-enabled solutions (e.g. SAP Ariba, Microsoft Copilot, Power BI or comparable technologies) is beneficial
• Ability to translate business challenges into digital and AI-enabled solutions and successfully drive their adoption within the organization
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project and stakeholder management skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset and innovation focus
• Experience in Change Management combined with excellent communication and presentation skills
