Zusammenfassung

Metlen Renewable Energy is seeking a driven, hands-on Electrical Site Engineer to join our Energy team in Germany. You will oversee LV/MV electrical installations on solar PV and battery storage projects, ensuring alignment with design, standards and safety.

Based in Berlin, you will supervise subcontractors, review drawings and coordinate with civil and mechanical teams to deliver projects on time and with quality.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical site solar engineering within construction or renewable energy projects.
• Experience supervising subcontractors and delivering electrical works on-site.
• Strong understanding of LV/MV systems, including grid connections, inverters and renewable energy infrastructure.
• Familiarity with testing, commissioning and QA/QC processes.
• Knowledge of German electrical standards and regulations, including DIN VDE standards, applicable VDE requirements and grid connection regulations.
• Fluent English; B2 German preferred.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

Aufgaben

• Ensure installations meet design specifications and German standards, focusing on cable routing, segregation, terminations, earthing and bonding.
• Interpret and review electrical drawings, SLDs, cable schedules and technical documentation.
• Support inspection, testing and commissioning activities, including insulation resistance, continuity and functional testing.
• Collaborate with civil and mechanical teams for smooth project execution.
• Monitor site progress, track subcontractor performance, and address risks and delays.
• Maintain quality, inspection and testing documentation with full traceability.
• Support pre-commissioning, energisation, grid connection and final handover.
• Ensure compliance with German electrical, construction, environmental and OH&S regulations.
• Uphold health, safety and environmental compliance; ensure safe systems of work.

Your role will encompass:

Ensure compliance with applicable German electrical, construction, environmental and occupational health & safety regulations

Uphold the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance, ensuring safe systems of work are followed at all times

What you bring to the role:

A degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related field

At least 3 years’ experience in electrical site solar engineering within construction or renewable energy projects

Strong experience supervising subcontractors and delivering electrical works on-site

Solid understanding of LV/MV systems, including grid connections, inverters and renewable energy infrastructure

Familiarity with testing, commissioning and QA/QC processes

Knowledge of relevant German electrical standards and regulations, including DIN VDE standards, applicable VDE requirements and grid connection regulations

Good understanding of German grid connection requirements for renewable energy and BESS projects

Ability to confidently interpret technical drawings, single line diagrams and electrical documentation

Experience working in multi-disciplinary site teams in fast-paced construction environments

Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills

A proactive mindset with a strong commitment to quality, safety and delivery excellence

Fluent English; B2 of German
