Lonza is seeking a senior engineering leader to design, architect, and deliver complex electronic systems for regulated products. You will own hardware development, system architecture, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure compliant, reliable, and manufacturable outcomes.
You will lead multidisciplinary teams from concept through product release, drive verification and validation, and supervise EMC and electrical safety activities in alignment with ISO 13485 and regulatory requirements.
This role is responsible for leading the design, architecture, and delivery of complex electronic systems for regulated products, acting as the technical owner across the full product development lifecycle. The individual leads multidisciplinary engineering projects, makes key architectural and technical decisions, and ensures products are compliant, reliable, manufacturable, and meet regulatory requirements. Key highlights include ownership of electronic hardware development and system architecture, leadership of cross-functional teams, PCB and embedded electronics design using Altium Designer, verification and validation testing, EMC and electrical safety compliance, ISO 13485 design control documentation, and collaboration with quality, manufacturing, and regulatory functions to support successful product development and product release.
This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

The full‑time annual base salary for this position in Germany is expected to range between €57,000 and €79,800. Initial salary placement within this range will be determined based on role‑related factors such as experience, qualifications, and expected contribution.
Native-level German language proficiency is required, with a minimum of C1-level proficiency in English.
Several years of experience in electronic hardware development.
