Imk Mechatronics in Chemnitz is seeking a Development Engineer to drive design and electronics for medical technology. You’ll work from concept to prototype and series production in a multidisciplinary team.

Your role covers mechanical design with CAD (SolidWorks), PCB development, integration into housings, prototyping, testing, and collaboration with suppliers and sales. A permanent contract and flexible working models are offered.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in mechatronics, mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Several years of product development experience.
• Proficiency with CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks.
• Experience in PCB design for small devices or systems.
• Experience in medical devices or regulated products is a plus.
• Structured, independent, proactive work approach.

Aufgaben

• Mechanical design of components and systems using CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
• Design and develop electrical circuits, assemblies and cabling for small devices.
• PCB layout and support with electrical design.
• Integrate electronic assemblies into mechanical housings with space and heat considerations.
• Build prototypes and conduct initial hands-on tests.
• Supervise commissioning and testing of components and systems.
• Produce manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
• Create and maintain bills of materials including change management.
• Coordinate with suppliers and external partners.
• Contribute to risk analyses and technical evaluation.
• Support approval and certification processes (CE, EMC).
• Assist sales with complex customer inquiries.

Do you want to do more than just design components – do you want to play an active part in developing innovative products? Are you interested in the interplay between mechanics and electronics, and keen to turn ideas into technical solutions? If so, we look forward to getting to know you.

With us, you’ll be involved in development projects from start to finish – from the initial concept through to prototyping and commissioning. You’ll work independently, with a practical focus and in close collaboration with our interdisciplinary team.

• Mechanical design of components and systems using CAD (preferably SolidWorks)
• Design and development of electrical circuits, assemblies and the cabling for small devices and systems
• PCB layout and support with electrical design
• Integration of electronic assemblies into mechanical housings, taking into account installation space, heat generation and assembly requirements
• Construction of prototypes and functional models, and carrying out initial hands‑on tests
• Supervision and execution of commissioning, as well as testing of components and systems
• Production of drawings suitable for manufacturing and technical documentation that complies with standards
• Creation and ongoing maintenance of bills of materials, including change management
• Technical coordination with suppliers, manufacturing partners and external service providers
• Contributing to risk analyses and the technical evaluation of development solutions
• Support with approval and certification processes (e.g. CE, EMC)
• Providing technical support to our sales team in response to complex customer enquiries

Your profile

• A successfully completed degree in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, medical technology or a comparable qualification
• Several years’ practical experience in product development or design – ideally in an industrial setting
• Proficiency in using CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks
• Experience in printed circuit board design and in the development of electrical circuits for small devices or systems
• Ideally, experience in the development of medical devices or similar regulated technical products
• A structured, independent and reliable approach to work, with a strong sense of self-organisation
• A strong technical understanding, as well as a willingness to engage in-depth with the background and requirements of a project
• You contribute ideas, critically examine solutions in a constructive manner and develop technical concepts independently, rather than simply implementing specifications
• Ability to work as part of a team, strong communication skills and a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration
