Zusammenfassung

Progressive in Frankfurt seeks an experienced EHS Lead to drive health, safety and environmental standards on a major construction project in the Data Centre or Pharmaceutical sector. You will oversee site operations, conduct inspections, manage RAMS, liaise with client and regulators, and lead training while ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifikationen

• NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent is required.
• Proven experience as EHS Lead/Manager on large-scale construction projects.
• Experience in Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Industrial, Semiconductor or mission-critical projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multinational project teams.
• Fluent English; German language skills are advantageous.

We are currently seeking an experienced EHS Lead to join a major construction project in Frankfurt. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large-scale, fast-paced project within either the Data Centre or Pharmaceutical sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving health, safety and environmental standards across site operations, ensuring compliance with local legislation, client requirements and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all site-based Health, Safety and Environmental activities.
• Promote a positive safety culture throughout the project.
• Conduct routine site inspections, audits and safety walks.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with project EHS requirements.
• Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions where required.
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety training sessions.
• Review RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and permit systems.
• Maintain accurate EHS records, reports and documentation.
• Liaise with the client, management team, contractors and regulatory bodies on all EHS matters.
• Support project teams in identifying and mitigating risks throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure best practice is maintained across site.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management or related discipline.
• NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Construction Certificate, Diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience working as an EHS Lead, EHS Manager or Senior Safety Advisor on large-scale construction projects.
• Previous experience within Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Industrial, Semiconductor or Mission Critical projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
• Experience managing subcontractors and working within multinational project teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead site EHS activities.
• Fluent English is essential.
• German language skills are advantageous but not always essential depending on the project.

Desirable Experience

• Data Centre construction experience.
• Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences project experience.
• High-risk construction activities including lifting operations, work at height, electrical safety and permit-to-work systems.
• Experience on fast-track or live operational environments.
