Electrical & Instrumentation Field Service Engineer - Power Generation

We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Field Service Engineer to support the maintenance and servicing of advanced power generation facilities across the Munich region.

This is a hands‑on field‑based position supporting Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) power plants, an innovative power generation technology used to convert low-to-medium-temperature heat into electricity and useful thermal energy.

Munich will act as the engineer's primary base, with travel to a number of operational power plants located approximately 1–2 hours from the city. Travel costs between sites will be covered.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out hands‑on electrical and instrumentation maintenance across operational power plants
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and control equipment
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, instrumentation and generator-related faults
• Service and maintain generator excitation / AVR systems
• Support testing, commissioning and recommissioning activities where required
• Work safely within operational plants involving flammable fluids and hazardous processes
• Provide technical field support across multiple power generation sites
• Complete service and maintenance documentation following site interventions

Required Experience

• Strong hands‑on Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) background
• Previous power plant / power generation experience
• Proven field service, maintenance and electrical troubleshooting experience
• Hands‑on experience with generator excitation systems / AVR systems
• Experience working in environments involving flammable fluids and/or hazardous areas
• Comfortable travelling regularly between operational sites
• Able to be permanently based in or relocate to the Munich region
• EU nationality required
• Initial 12-month freelance contract
• Full‑time, approximately 8 hours per day
• Fully onsite / hands‑on position
• Munich‑based with regional travel
