We're currently recruiting for a Service Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of specialised industrial machinery and engineered systems at customer sites across the DACH region.
This is a field-based role requiring regular travel and close collaboration with customers to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
The successful candidate will provide technical support throughout the equipment lifecycle, from installation and commissioning through to preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrades.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, commissioning and acceptance testing of industrial equipment at customer sites.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and complete corrective repairs.
- Execute equipment modifications, upgrades and retrofit projects.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective on-site solutions.
- Prepare service reports and maintain accurate maintenance documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and applicable health and safety standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers during service visits.
- Liaise with internal engineering and technical support teams where required.
- Participate in an on-call rota and provide emergency service support when necessary.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and experience working in industrial field service or maintenance environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, vocational qualification or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical discipline.
- Previous experience as a Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Commissioning Engineer or similar field-based technical role.
- Experience working with industrial machinery, automation systems or electrical equipment.
- Good electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Mechanical aptitude is desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Comfortable working independently and managing field service activities.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with occasional travel elsewhere in Europe.
- Flexibility to support customers outside normal working hours as part of an on-call rotation.
- Full Category B driving licence.
- Fluent German and good English language skills, both written and spoken.
