Qualifikationen

Aufgaben

  • Support FTA activities, including USMCA solicitation processes and documentation.

  • Support miscellaneous duty-savings programs (9801, TIB, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain procedures and media; review and improve processes.
  • Partner with business units to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive implementation.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver results.
  • Contribute to training and continuous improvement in centralized duty-savings.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Duty Mitigation Analyst based in United States.

This remote role sits within a global trade services organization supporting centralized customs and duty-savings activities across an international business.

You will help manage programs designed to reduce customs costs while maintaining compliance with complex trade laws and regulations.

The position covers free trade agreements, tariff mitigation, duty drawback, bonded warehouses, free trade zones, and related savings programs.

You will combine detailed analysis with creative problem-solving to identify savings opportunities and turn them into actionable solutions.

The role requires close collaboration with internal business units, trade specialists, and cross-functional teams across multiple jurisdictions.

You will also contribute to systems implementation, training, procedures, and process improvements that strengthen the organization's global trade capabilities.

Accountabilities
  • Manage 520(d) and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) reconciliations, including preparing, reviewing, and finalizing claim submissions.
  • Perform tariff-shift and Regional Value Content (RVC) assessments supporting 520(d) and FTA reconciliation activities.
  • Review Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and coordinate escalations with the appropriate classification specialists when needed.
  • Identify and review historical USMCA qualifications for potential inclusion in FTA reconciliation and 520(d) programs.
  • Support FTA activities, including annual USMCA solicitation processes, documentation, and recordkeeping.
  • Participate in the implementation, testing, and optimization of new FTA systems and related processes.
  • Provide support for annual duty-drawback claims and other duty-savings initiatives.
  • Support miscellaneous duty-savings programs, including 9801, Temporary Importation under Bond (TIB), and other applicable programs.
  • Develop and maintain procedures and command media, reviewing existing processes and recommending improvements.
  • Partner with business units to identify additional cost-saving opportunities and advance viable opportunities toward implementation and mitigation.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex issues, execute projects, and deliver results.
  • Contribute to training, program execution, and continuous improvement initiatives within the centralized duty-savings function.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; international relations, supply chain, law, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in international trade, with a strong focus on trade compliance and customs or duty-savings programs.
  • Functional knowledge of customs regulations, free trade agreements, free trade zones, bonded warehouses, duty drawbacks, and other duty-mitigation programs across multiple jurisdictions.
