Job summary

PSI Software seeks a fully qualified attorney to lead the Legal Department in Berlin, shaping strategy and ensuring governance across GDPR, IT security, and AI regulation. You will guide external counsel on strategic matters and coordinate cross-functional risk management in a technology-driven company.

You will manage a multinational legal team, align with the Executive Board, and promote a proactive, entrepreneurial culture within the group.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified attorney with German state exams.

• Deep knowledge of contract, IT, and data protection law.

Responsibilities

• Lead the legal department and develop a solution-oriented, entrepreneurial culture.
• Advise the Executive Board on strategic and complex legal matters.
• Oversee corporate governance, GDPR, IT security, NIS 2, and AI regulation compliance.
• Manage review, drafting, and negotiation of IT contracts and group-wide contracts.
• Coordinate with external counsel on M&A projects and significant disputes.

Tasks inspiring you

• Strategic and disciplinary leadership: You will lead the legal department team, foster the individual professional development of your team members, and enhance a solution-oriented, entrepreneurial culture.
• Top-Level Advisory Role: You will serve as the primary point of contact for the Executive Board, management, and subsidiaries on all strategic and complex legal matters
• Corporate Governance and Compliance: You are responsible for, or support, the further development and implementation of the company-wide compliance structure, particularly with regard to data protection (GDPR), critical infrastructure, IT security (e.g., NIS 2), and new technologies (e.g., AI Regulation).
• Contract and Risk Management: You will oversee the review, drafting, and negotiation of strategically important contracts, particularly in the IT environment, and optimize group-wide contract management.
• Steering and Coordination: You are responsible for managing external attorneys and, when necessary, representing the company’s interests in M&A projects or significant legal disputes.
• Knowledge Management: Through targeted training for specialists and managers, you ensure that relevant legal knowledge is embedded within the group.

Qualifications that inspire us

• Qualifications: You are a fully qualified attorney (m/f/d) who has successfully passed both German state exams. Training as a specialist attorney in IT law is desirable.
• Leadership Experience: You have several years of verifiable experience in the professional and disciplinary leadership of legal teams in a technical environment.
• Professional Experience: You have extensive, multi-year professional experience in the legal department of an internationally operating (IT) company or in a business-focused law firm.
• Expertise: You have in-depth knowledge of contract law, IT law, and data protection law. Experience in corporate law, public procurement law, or labor law is a plus.
• Skills: You excel at balancing operational needs with legal requirements. You take a proactive, decisive, and entrepreneurial approach to your work.
• Languages: You negotiate confidently and fluently in both German and English. Knowledge of Polish would be an additional advantage.
