Kaiser X Labs GmbH seeks a Director Legal (M/F/D) to be the central legal contact, shaping compliant digital processes and tooling across the company. You will coordinate with Allianz stakeholders and the leadership team to ensure lawful and well-structured operations.

Qualifikationen

• Fluency in English and German (C1) both written and spoken.
• Experience as a technology lawyer with data protection and commercial background.
• 5+ years in-house or law firm with tech, commercial and corporate focus.
• Experience advising senior executives; labor law experience a plus.

YOUR ROLE

AS A DIRECTOR LEGAL (M/F/D) AT KXL
You will be the central legal point of contact, taking on a broad and challenging range of tasks. You will operate at the intersection of technology and law, driving compliant digital processes and tooling across Kaiser X Labs. You will work closely with KXL leadership and with Allianz stakeholders to ensure our operations are legally sound, compliant, and well-structured. You will not be doing this alone: a contract coordinator will be part of your team to support you, particularly in administrative and contract-related matters.
YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Regulatory & Compliance: Your main duties focus on the integration of KXL’s operations into Allianz Compliance Framework. You will also support internal audits and be responsible for AI compliance and Document Management.

Your duties will also include the following:

• Corporate Housekeeping: You will be responsible for bylaws and rules of procedure. You will prepare our managing directors’ decision meetings and resolutions, and manage shareholder relations and resolutions. Furthermore, you will handle proxies and legal matters concerning our office locations.
• Contract Management: Supported by your team's contract coordinator, you will steer the Contract Request Process and oversee the Contract Lifecycle Management. Additionally, you will maintain the Template Library and conduct compliance background checks.Data Protection: You will oversee our general data protection management and work closely with our data protection officer. You will also review data processing contracts and conduct data protection risk assessments.
• Tool Approvals and Processes: You will work closely with the IT and Information Security Department and conduct risk assessments for critical tools, which inter alia includes reviewing license terms, data processing contracts, and terms and conditions. You will also prepare works council approvals and manage process documentation.
• Additional Services & Risk Assessments: You will advise our senior leadership on risk‑related, strategic matters. You will work closely with our HR department and provide advice on labor law, including workers council relations and termination agreements, as well as other area‑specific advice. Furthermore, you will provide legal guidance for our employees and conduct trainings for them.

YOUR PROFILE

YOUR EXPERIENCE IS WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Full professional proficiency in both English and German, written and spoken (minimum C1).
• Successfully completed German law degree ( fully qualified lawyer). LL.M. or equivalent additional qualification is a plus.
• Technology lawyer with a strong data, data protection and commercial background.
• 5+ years of professional experience in an in-house legal department or law firm, with expertise in technology, commercial and corporate law, contract management, data protection and compliance.
• Experience in advising senior executives.
• Experience in labor law (especially dealing with works councils and co-determination processes) is a great advantage.
• Experience in leadership, team coordination, or mentoring is a plus, as you will have a contract coordinator in your team.
• Quick grasp of complex and agile matters and the ability to swiftly get up to speed with KXL-specific legal topics.
• Ability to flexibly work across multiple projects, effectively prioritizing tasks and working collaboratively within a team. Hands-on mentality.
• You work in a structured manner, demonstrate high personal responsibility, assertiveness, and strong communication skills.
• High degree of discretion and a relaxed, professional approach to day-to-day challenges.
• Permanent residence in Germany (Employment from abroad is not possible.)
