Job summary

ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology is seeking a Mechatronics Development Engineer to tackle challenging problems in a structured team setting. The role focuses on developing qualification processes for mechatronic modules and systems, including test benches and software in Matlab.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, own work packages, perform measurements, and contribute to software development for analysis.

Qualifications

• University studies completed in mechatronics or related field; PhD is a plus.
• Excellent knowledge in control engineering and mechatronics, incl. system identification and tuning.
• Very good programming skills, ideally in Matlab; experience with large code repositories desirable.
• Practical experience commissioning, troubleshooting and fault classification in mechatronic systems.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

• Process development for integration, commissioning, and qualification of mechatronic modules and systems
• Requirements management: define qualification-process and test-bench requirements concerning dynamics and process stability in collaboration with key stakeholders
• Work-package ownership: guide the development of test benches and processes, their commissioning, and handover to production; technical planning, detailing, and responsibility for work packages in system integration with a focus on mechatronic qualification
• Measurements and analyses: perform and evaluate measurements to determine mechanical, electrical, and dynamic properties of components, assemblies, and machines
• Software development: develop analysis algorithms and measurement software in Matlab

Your Profile:

• Successfully completed university studies in mechatronics, control engineering, computational engineering, electrical engineering or a related field; PhD is a plus
• Excellent knowledge in control engineering and mechatronics, particularly in system identification, system qualification, system tuning, and uncertainty analyses
• Very good programming skills, ideally in Matlab; first experience contributing to larger code repositories is desirable
• Practical experience commissioning, troubleshooting, and fault classification in mechatronic systems, plus knowledge of experiments and simulations
• Structured problem-solving approach and goal-oriented communication
• Strong teamwork, confident and friendly presence, and high proactivity
• Very good English and good German language skills, both written and spoken
