Job summary

Luxinar's Development team in Krailling near Munich invites applications for a Development Engineer for Laser Sources. You will design, build, and characterize ultrafast and nanosecond laser systems and drive projects from concept to prototype and transfer to production.

You have a degree in photonics, physics, laser engineering or electrical engineering and hands-on experience with solid-state, ultrafast, or fiber lasers. Strong German and English communication completes the profile.

Qualifications

• Degree in photonics, physics, laser engineering, electrical engineering, or comparable technical discipline.
• Knowledge in laser physics, solid-state lasers, ultrafast lasers, fiber lasers, or pulsed laser systems.
• Hands-on experience in development, characterization, or optimization of optical/photonic systems is desirable.
• Experience with ultrafast or nanosecond solid-state laser systems is advantageous.
• Industrial laser experience is desirable; graduates are encouraged to apply.

Iradion Laser GmbH, operating under the Luxinar brand, develops and manufactures innovative industrial lasers for demanding applications in material processing, semiconductor manufacturing, and micromachining. For our development and production site in Krailling near Munich, Germany, we are looking for a motivated Development Engineer for Laser Sources.

Key responsibilities

• Develop innovative ultrafast and nanosecond laser systems for industrial high-tech applications.
• Take responsibility for development projects from the initial concept phase through design, prototype assembly, qualification, and transfer to series production.
• Design, build, and characterize laser systems, while analyzing and optimizing key performance parameters such as beam quality, stability, efficiency, and reliability.
• Further develop existing product platforms and integrate new technologies and components to maintain our position as a technology leader.
• Develop customer-specific solutions in close collaboration with customers, suppliers, and internal expert teams.
• Support the industrialization of new products and facilitate technology transfer into manufacturing.
• Actively contribute to the development of future product generations and technology roadmaps.

What you’ll bring

• Degree in Photonics, Physics, Laser Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
• Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: laser physics, solid-state lasers, ultrafast lasers, fiber lasers, or pulsed laser systems.
• Ideally, initial hands-on experience in the development, characterization, or optimization of optical and photonic systems.
• Experience with ultrafast, nanosecond, or comparable solid-state laser systems is an advantage.
• Professional experience in industrial laser technology is desirable; however, motivated graduates and early-career professionals with relevant practical experience are expressly encouraged to apply.
• Structured and self-reliant working style combined with a strong commitment to quality.
