Siemens Energy in Berlin is seeking a Development Engineer (f/m/d) for insulated components in high voltage to join a dynamic, international team. You will develop insulation solutions from concept to production, design electrical and mechanical interfaces, and help drive tests and validation across global programs.

In this role you will create 3D models, drawings and BOMs, perform tolerance analyses, and coordinate with simulation, manufacturing, procurement, quality and suppliers to ensure

Qualifikationen

• Completed degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, plastics technology, or a comparable field.
• Several years of experience in insulated components or high voltage components design.
• Solid knowledge of materials science related to insulating materials.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD systems (NX, Creo, SolidWorks, Catia).
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

A Snapshot of Your Day

In this position, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on the development and adaptation of gas-insulated high voltage switchgear. Your work contributes to the reliability, safety, and sustainability of our products, which are used worldwide in high and extra‑high voltage networks. You will develop innovative insulation solutions and guide them from concept to series production. Collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams, you will shape the entire development process, including conducting tests and handing over the final product to manufacturing.

What You Bring

• Completed degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, plastics technology, or a comparable field.
• Several years of experience in the design of insulated components or high voltage components is an advantage.
• Solid knowledge of materials science related to insulating materials.
• Basic understanding of high voltage technology (electric fields, partial discharges, standards) as well as proficiency in 3D CAD systems (e.g., NX, Creo, SolidWorks, Catia).
• Team‑oriented and strong communication skills in an international environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English (fluent) and German (good) as well as willingness to travel from time to time.
