BMW Group IT in Ulm invites you to join as a Dev-Ops Engineer for a Data Analytics Platform. You will design and maintain scalable cloud data platforms using AWS, Python, and Terraform, enabling robust data governance and analytics for a global user base.

You will develop clean code, implement CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with international teams to advance the platform and drive BMW's digital transformation journey.

Qualifications

• Must have a university degree in computer science or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience with data-driven technologies.
• Strong experience with distributed systems and cloud architecture (AWS).
• Proficiency in Python and software engineering best practices.
• Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

Cloud-based Data platforms play a crucial role at BMW to provide our stakeholders with a robust, scalable, and efficient data backbone. Join us as a Dev-Ops Engineer for our Data platform, where you will play a key role in architecting, developing and deploying solutions with a global team for data driven solutions. By leveraging cloud technologies and implementing best practices in data governance you will play a significant role in driving BMW’s digital transformation journey.

What awaits you?

• You design and maintain scalable and reliable distributed systems based on AWS services.
• Furthermore, you work with distributed database systems and SQL using frameworks such as MapReduce and Spark.
• You develop clean and maintainable Python code while consistently applying testing best practices.
• Additionally, you implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform.
• You collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and improve data governance and pipeline management.
• You maintain and adapt knowledge graphs and ontologies for data-driven use cases.
• Together with an international team, you contribute to the continuous advancement of our cloud-based data platform.

What should you bring along?

• University degree in computer science or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience with a focus on data-driven technologies.
• Extensive experience in distributed systems and cloud architecture, especially with AWS.
• Strong knowledge of distributed database systems, SQL, data pipeline management, and data governance.
• Proficiency in Python programming and solid understanding of software engineering principles.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Business-fluent English skills; German language skills are desirable.
