Job summary

Hamilton Barnes in Munich is seeking a Facility Electrician to support its expanding data centre footprint across the region. You will work hands-on with critical infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted operation and compliance, in a small, flat-hierarchy team.

Responsibilities include coordinating maintenance, managing service providers, collaborating with Network Operations Center during on-call periods, performing repairs, documenting incidents, and contributing to budget and audits.

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training as an electrician (or equivalent in refrigeration/HVAC).
• Standard 230V/400V electrical background for this role.
• Willingness to obtain switching authorization and authorization to work under voltage.

• Coordinate and optimize maintenance measures to ensure smooth facility operation.
• Manage service companies end-to-end: needs analysis, sourcing, offers, monitoring delivery, defect management.
• Work with the Network Operations Center to resolve malfunctions during business hours and on-call periods.
• Carry out minor repairs and maintenance, including racks, lighting, and cabling as needed.
• Collaborate with Facility and Operations teams to keep the data centre customer-ready at all times.

The organization is expanding its team and is looking to appoint a Facility Electrician to support its growing Munich data centre footprint, keeping critical infrastructure running to the standard customers expect. The ideal candidate will work hands‑on with the systems that keep infrastructure live, within a small, close-knit team and a flat‑hierarchy environment, with a genuine path to grow as the business scales.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and optimize maintenance measures to ensure smooth, uninterrupted facility operation
• Manage service companies end-to-end: needs analysis, sourcing and negotiating offers, monitoring delivery, and defect management
• Work with the Network Operations Center to resolve and elevate malfunctions, supported by monitoring systems, during business hours and on‑call periods
• Carry out minor repairs and maintenance independently, cold aisle enclosures, racks, lighting systems, filter replacement, accessible component swaps, and power/network cabling fixes as needed
• Collaborate closely with Facility and Operations teams to keep the data centre customer‑ready at all times
• Contribute to budget creation and support ongoing monitoring and compliance
• Maintain clean documentation (maintenance, defects) and ensure adherence to processes like incident, problem, and change management
• Support audits and the continuous improvement of processes, technology, and systems
• Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule

Skills/Must Have:

• Completed vocational training as an electrician (or equivalent in refrigeration/HVAC — "Kälte/Klimatechnik")
• Standard 230V/400V electrical background (low‑voltage/telecoms‑only profiles not suitable for this role)
• Willingness to obtain switching authorization and authorization to work under voltage, if not already held
• Strong technical understanding of complex infrastructure systems and genuine interest in how they work
• Comfortable with manual, hands‑on work
• Flexible, analytical, solutions‑oriented, and a team player
• Willing to be on call, including nights and weekends

Salary:

• €65,000 base + 5% bonus, plus benefits package
