Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is seeking a Critical Facilities Technician to join its Frankfurt team, responsible for the safe, reliable operation of mission-critical infrastructure across electrical, mechanical, HVAC and life safety systems. The role covers energy isolation, switch activity and facility rounds within a 24/7 shift-based schedule.

You will monitor BMS/EPMS, respond to alarms, perform LOTO procedures, document rounds and maintenance tasks, and support incident response with root-cause analysis.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in mission-critical environments.
• Experience with energy isolation, LOTO, and switchgear operations.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, CRAC/CRAH).
• Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct facility rounds across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems.
• Monitor BMS/EPMS platforms and respond to alarms per SOPs.
• Execute energy isolation procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Perform and document switchgear operations, including breaker racking and panel isolations.
• Support incident response, including root cause analysis and after-action reporting.
• Maintain accurate documentation for rounds, isolations, and maintenance tasks.

The organization is currently on the lookout for Critical Facilities Technicians to join its Frankfurt team, responsible for the safe, reliable operation of mission‑critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will cover energy isolation, switch activity, and facility rounds as part of a 24/7 shift‑based team, working across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and life safety systems with a clear progression path toward Senior or Lead Technician positions.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct facility rounds across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems
• Monitor BMS/EPMS platforms and respond to alarms per SOPs
• Execute energy isolation procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
• Perform and document switchgear operations, including breaker racking and panel isolations
• Support incident response, including root cause analysis and after‑action reporting
• Maintain accurate documentation for rounds, isolations, and maintenance tasks

Skills/Must have:

• 2+ years of experience in mission‑critical environments (data center, hospital, industrial plant, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience with energy isolation, LOTO, and switchgear operations
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, CRAC/CRAH)
• Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• EU passport holders considered; English fluent, German not required

Salary:

• Up to €70,000 DOE
