Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL is expanding and seeks a full-time Critical Care Intensivist (MD/DO) in the Department of Anesthesiology. This Intensivist 100% ICU role supervises a 16-bed Surgical ICU and coordinates multidisciplinary care to optimize patient outcomes.

Holders of primary board certification (or eligibility) and completion of an ACGME-approved Critical Care fellowship are required, with opportunities for CME, research, and career advancement within a leading cancer center.

Qualifications

• Holds primary board certification (or eligibility) by AB anesthesiology, AB internal medicine, AB surgery, or AB emergency medicine.
• Completed an ACGME-approved fellowship in Critical Care Medicine.
• Board certified or board eligible at time of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Lead the multidisciplinary critical care team and coordinate care across services.
• Assess and treat patients with multiple organ failures to prevent deterioration.
• Perform resuscitation in acute cardiac, respiratory, or neurologic emergencies.
• Supervise a 16-bed Surgical ICU and oversee care delivery.

Summary

Holds primary board certification (or eligibility for certification) by either the American Board of Anesthesiology, the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Surgery, the American Board of Emergency Medicine AND has completed a ACGME-approved fellowship in Critical Care Medicine AND is board certified or board eligible at the time of hiring.

ls expected to lead the multidisciplinary critical care team, and coordinate care among the primary service and other consultant teams. Strong communication and collaboration skills are required. Assess, treats and supports patients with one or more vital organ system failures with the goal of preventing further life- threatening deterioration. Performs resuscitation in the care of patients with acute cardiac, respiratory, or neurologic emergencies.

Procedures that intensivists perform include intubation, difficult airway management, central and arterial line placement, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, ultrasonography, and diagnostic / therapeutic bronchoscopy, among others.

As a physician of the Moffitt Medical Group (MMG), provides patient care and serves as a member of the academic medical enterprise. Spanning the clinical and research enterprise in support of patient care, research, and education and advances the Institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. As such, the incumbent agrees to comply fully with MMG policies and procedures and the Hospital’s Medical Staff Bylaws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

This is an Intensivist 100% ICU position. Responsibilities include supervising a 16 bed Surgical ICU.

Salary Range

$409,281.60 - $510,076.32

Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
