Job summary

SAP SE in Deutschland sucht eine erfahrene Technische/r Architekt/in für Industry AI im ENR-Bereich. Sie entwerfen skalierbare, cloud-native Architekturen, führen Entwicklungsteams von Design bis Produktion und sichern End-to-End-Lösungen mit Fokus auf Leistung, Correctness und Wartbarkeit.

Sie arbeiten eng mit Product Experts zusammen, übersetzen Anforderungen, gestalten Governance und beraten Kunden - auf Englisch kommunizieren Sie sicher.

Qualifications

• Design und Umsetzung von Softwarelösungen für Versorgungsunternehmen.
• Übersetzung von Produktanforderungen und regulatorischen Änderungen in konkrete technische Entwürfe und Umsetzungspläne.
• Hervorragendes Verständnis von Agentic AI, SAP Business AI und modernen AI-Engineering-Fähigkeiten.
• Verständnis von Governance, Sicherheit, Compliance sowie Daten- und Datenschutzaspekten.
• Nachweisliche Fähigkeit, Entwicklungsteams zu führen, architektonische Richtungen zu setzen und Stakeholder zu steuern.
• Technische Führungskraft mit Beratungs- und Ergebnisorientierung.
• Aktiver Einsatz von KI in täglichen Engineering-Workflows zur Beschleunigung von Design, Code-Reviews, Tests und Automatisierung.
• Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse.

• You have several years of hands-on experience in software architecture and development, ideally in the utilities or energy industry.

• You have a deep understanding of the technical landscape — from message exchange to smart meter gateway integration — and you stay informed about relevant regulatory and technology trends.

• Based on your architectural expertise, your knowledge of cloud-native patterns, and your strong analytical skills, you design solutions that are both technically sound and valuable to customers.

What you’ll build

As part of the Industry AI unit for Energy and Natural Resources, your focus will be on the architecture, design, and technical delivery of solutions and agents in the area of metering concept management/distributed energy resources. Working side by side with a dedicated team of Product Experts who define the scope, you will translate product requirements into scalable, cloud-native software architectures and guide your development team from design to production.

You will own the end-to-end technical solution and new agentic use cases, ensuring that system design decisions balance correctness, performance, and maintainability. You drive architectural governance, evaluate technology choices, and act as the primary technical point of contact for all development teams on a day-to-day basis.

Direct engagement with customers on technical requirements and solution design is an important and integral part of your work.

This role requires a combination of deep technical expertise, systems thinking, and strong communication skills in English.

Required skills & experiences:

• Design and deliver software solutions for utility customers.
• Translate product requirements and regulatory changes into concrete technical designs, implementation plans, and actionable engineering tasks.
• You have an excellent understanding of Agentic AI, SAP Business AI, and modern AI engineering capabilities, including their practical application in industry-specific technical architectures.
• You have an excellent understanding of governance, security, compliance, and data and privacy considerations is essential. Proven experience optimizing complex, high-throughput systems for performance and cost efficiency is expected
• You have demonstrated the ability to lead and mentor development teams, set architectural direction, and align cross-functional stakeholders on technical trade-offs and delivery priorities.
• You're also a technical leader who can mentor engineers, guide design decisions, and influence cross-functional stakeholders across product, platform, and AI teams. Strong consulting and results orientation with the ability to structure technical ambiguity, evaluate architectural options, and guide teams from initial design to validated implementation.
• You have proactively uses AI in daily engineering workflows to accelerate design, code reviews, testing, automation, and quality assurance of results.
• Excellent knowledge of English.
