Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Fluid Dynamics and Convection Stability Physicist (PhD) for a remote contract role. The project lasts 8 to 10 weeks, with a commitment of 10 hours per week, and compensation is $80–$110 per hour.

The candidate will evaluate research-level convection stability problems, design solutions, and document findings using LaTeX, Python, and Jupyter. Collaboration occurs asynchronously to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field (fluid mechanics, applied math, or mechanical engineering).
• Published work on convection stability.
• Verifiable publication record with 3–5 representative papers.
• Working proficiency with LaTeX, Python, and Jupyter.
• English at B2 or above, including written reasoning.
