Job summary

Mercor seeks a High Energy Physicist (PhD) to contribute to AI model reasoning by solving advanced physics problems. The role is contract-based, remote, with a duration of 8 to 10 weeks and a commitment of 10 hours per week.

The candidate will evaluate research-level phenomena, design verifiable solutions, and collaborate asynchronously with the team, using LaTeX, Python, SymPy and Jupyter for problem-solving and documentation.

Qualifications

• PhD in high energy theory, nuclear theory, or closely related field.
• Verifiable publication record with 3–5 representative papers.
• Loop-calculation experience for quasi-PDF areas.
• Working proficiency with LaTeX, Python, SymPy, and Jupyter.
• English at B2 or above, including written reasoning.
