Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Düsseldorf seeks an experienced Commissioning Manager (m/f/d) to oversee the commissioning of electrical, mechanical and environmental control systems in data centre projects. You will coordinate with vendors, clients and internal teams to ensure compliance, testing and final handover.

The role requires several years of commissioning experience in high‑tech facilities, strong documentation skills and the ability to work on-site.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Experience commissioning industrial equipment and data centres.
• Experience managing commissioning activities through design, construction, commissioning and closeout.
• Ability to review technical documentation, commissioning plans, test procedures and as-built documentation.
• Familiarity with control systems for critical infrastructures and with SharePoint.
• Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Availability for on-site work.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage Vendor FAT/FWT with possible attendance.
• Manage CFCI and OFCI vendors commissioning scope.
• Lead daily/weekly commissioning meetings with internal teams, vendors and client.
• Prepare, review and obtain approval on commissioning documents (test scripts, compliance statements).
• Ensure receipt, review and sign-off of commissioning documentation.
• Serve as single point of contact for commissioning management and reporting.
• Supervise installation of new equipment, systems and facilities.
• Inspect and verify electrical, mechanical and environmental control systems.
• Conduct tests to verify operational efficacy.
• Verify integrity and performance of critical systems.
• Approve finalization of project based on successful testing.
• Participate in safety reviews.

As a Commissioning Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee t when equipment and systems are installed and tested. You’ll work closely with other business functions across projects to ensure adherence to regulatory compliance and budget requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Planning and management of Vendor FAT/ FWT with possible attendance if necessary.
• Management of CFCI and OFCI vendors Commissioning Scope
• LeadDaily/ Weekly commissioningmeetings, Internally, vendor and Client
• Manage, deliver and obtain approval on relevant project commissioning documents such as Test Scripts, Compliance statements etc.
• Manage the receipt, review and compliance of project commissioning documentation to achieve the necessary sign off
• Single POC for commissioningmanagement and reporting of the planning and execution of scopes and deliverables
• Supervise the installation of new equipment, systems, and facilities.
• Inspect and verify the correct functioning of electrical, mechanical, and environmental control systems
• Testing and Verification: Conduct tests to ensure operational efficacy
• Verify the integrity and performance of critical systems.
• Approve the finalization of the project based on successful testing
• Participate in safety reviews.

• Degree in Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
• Several years experience inindustrial equipment and systems commissioning; preferably within data centres, mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale construction projects.
• Experience managing commissioning activities throughout design, construction, commissioning, and project closeout phases.
• Ability to review technical documentation, commissioning plans, method statements, test procedures, and as-built documentation.
• Proficiency in mechanical and electricalequipment andsystems, Excel, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook), control systems, and SharePoint
• Familiarity with control systems for critical infrastructures
• Strong analytical, structural, and organizational abilities
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the capability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Highly motivated and driven with a passion for delivering to your client
• Availability for on-site work
