Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Project Manager (m/f/d) to join our Data Centre team in Düsseldorf. You will oversee the pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and close-out phases of a hyperscale, state-of-the-art data center project for a global technology client.

With a market-leading client base, you will lead client meetings, monitor costs, and manage substation projects, vendors, and cross-functional teams to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• A construction-related academic qualification/degree (e.g. construction, project management, engineering, surveying or architecture).
• Min. 5 years of working experience in project management for construction projects; data centre experience preferred.
• Advanced skills with spreadsheets, report writing and presentations.
• Strong and professional communication skills, with great organization and multi-tasking ability.
• Must have a team attitude, be self-motivated and able to support other groups and projects when required.
• Fluent in English, min. B2 German level.
• Availability to work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall project cost, schedule and budgets.
• Manage substation projects (mid-voltage).
• Manage General Contractor and other directly contracted vendors and consultants.
• Analyse, track and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.
• Run and lead client and other required meetings.
• Identify factors that influence construction costs and monitor/report on this data.
• Support engineering decisions relating to project cost and budget during design-build changes.
• Review requests for payment.
• Record occurrences that might result in a claim on behalf of the client.
• Manage the flow of project information between the team and client through regular meetings and written communications.
