Job summary

YER Germany is seeking a Commissioning Engineer (m/w/d) for Switchgear & Protection Technology to actively contribute to the energy transition by delivering HVDC projects. You will perform hardware and software tests as part of a project team, including customer acceptance tests.

The role requires a degree in Electrical or Power Engineering, knowledge of SIPROTEC 5 with DIGSI 5, high-voltage switchgear expertise, good English, willingness to travel on construction sites in Germany and abroad,

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• Very good knowledge of commissioning field control devices, ideally the SIPROTEC 5 series using DIGSI 5.
• Good knowledge of high-voltage and switchgear technology, as well as testing of interlocking logics and sequence controls.
• Good English language skills.
• Mobility and willingness to travel, with predominantly long-term assignments on construction sites in Germany and abroad.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Actively contributing to the energy transition by successfully delivering HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) projects.
• Performing hardware and software tests as part of a project team, including customer acceptance tests.
• Responsible for the configuration, testing, and commissioning of field control devices for switchgear within HVDC systems.
• Independently troubleshooting issues and supporting the software engineering teams.
• Assisting the commissioning management in quality, risk, and claim management as well as in improvement initiatives.
