RDT is seeking a Commissioning Engineer / Technician (m/f/d) – HVDC Switchgear Control for our Centre of Excellence of Advanced Engineering in Forchheim, Germany. You will test, configure and commission control devices for HVDC systems at our test center and on-site worldwide, collaborating with software engineers to resolve complex issues.

We are currently looking for a Commissioning Engineer / Technician (m/f/d) – HVDC Switchgear Control for our CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE OF ADVANCED ENGINEERING. This profile will be located in Forchheim, Germany.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Test hardware and software, including customer acceptance tests, in our test center in Germany and at HVDC sites worldwide.
• Configure, test and commission control devices for HVDC switchgear.
• Solve technical problems independently and work closely with our Software Engineering team.
• Support commissioning management with quality, risk and claim management, as well as improvement activities.
• Plan and monitor schedules and project progress in your area.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a similar field, or relevant technical training and experience.
• Experience in commissioning control devices, ideally with SIPROTEC 5 and DIGSI 5.
• Good knowledge of high-voltage and switchgear technology, including interlocking and sequence testing.
• Knowledge of protection systems and relays; experience with OMICRON is a plus.
• Good English skills; German is a plus.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel internationally.
• Willingness to work mainly on long-term assignments at construction sites in Germany and abroad, with possible offshore assignments.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, a proactive attitude, good decision-making skills and a positive approach to solving conflicts.
