AWS is set to introduce the inaugural European Sovereign Cloud (ESC). To spearhead this initiative, we are actively seeking support engineers in this space. As a member of the AWS Support team for ESC you will be at the forefront of this transformational technology, assisting companies and developers who run mission‑critical applications in ESC. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills in German & English language is a requirement. As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will act as the “Cloud Ambassador” across all cloud products, arming our customers with tools and tactics to get the most out of their product and support investment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide customer‑centric support in the cloud via telephone, email, and live chat.
- Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to deliver tailored solutions and drive customer interactions.
- Coach and mentor new hires, develop and present training, and partner with development teams on complex issues.
- Participate in hiring, write tools and scripts to help the team, and work with leadership on process improvement and strategic initiatives.
- Work a rotational schedule – five days a week with occasional weekends and on‑call duty.
Eligibility requirements
- Fluency in written and spoken German and English.
- Legal right to work in Germany.
- Right to relocate within the European Union, relocation support is provided.
- On‑call responsibility.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent.
- National of an EU member state.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills in English and German.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in system administration, troubleshooting operating systems (Linux and/or Windows) and networking (HTTP/S, TCP/IP, DNS, OSI model, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, traceroute, iperf, dig, CURL or related).
- Experience in one or more of the following: Big Data, DevOps, Security, Systems Administration, software development, cloud technology.
