GLS Germany sucht einen erfahrenen Cloud Engineer (m/w/d) zur Weiterentwicklung unserer Cloud-Architektur. Sie arbeiten in einem dynamischen Team, das an Microservices-Architektur beteiligt ist, entwerfen Lösungen für Client-Anwendungen und unterstützen Migrationen in AWS.

Sie bringen starkes AWS-, Kubernetes- und Terraform-Know-how mit, arbeiten eigenverantwortlich, besitzen Teamgeist und Reisebereitschaft. Wir bieten Weiterbildung, ein offenes Umfeld und attraktive Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten.

Qualifications

• Mehrjährige Erfahrung als Cloud Engineer in komplexen Programmen.
• Gute Erfahrungen mit AWS, Kubernetes und Terraform.
• Erfahrung mit CDK; Serverless-Konzepte von Vorteil.
• Kenntnisse in Netzwerken, Sicherheit und Virtualisierung.
• Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift.

Responsabilités

• Entwerfen und Architekturieren von Lösungen für bestehende Client-Anwendungen in Cloud-Umgebungen, z. B. AWS.
• Entwickeln von Tools und Frameworks zur Bereitstellung und Verwaltung unserer Plattformen.
• Architekturverbesserungen vorschlagen, Prozessverbesserungen empfehlen.
• Unterstützung bei Skalierbarkeit, Hochverfügbarkeit, Performance, Monitoring, Backups.
• Sicherung kritischer Systeme durch Cloud-Sicherheitslösungen.
• System-Fehlerbehebung über Plattform- und Anwendungsbereiche.
• Erstellen, Warten und Optimieren automatisierter Build- und Deployment-Pipelines.
• Zusammenarbeit mit Cloud-Infrastrukturteam bei der Migration von Anwendungen.
• Als Enabler für andere Developer bei Cloud-Migrationen.

Information technology accompanies the route of every GLS parcel: a parcel from a grandma in Hamburg to her grandson in Sicily. Entire goods delivered from manufacturers to retailers. Whether it is parcel routing or a mobile app – there is always highly developed IT behind it. GLS IT is responsible for the tools and systems involved. Our employees organize the IT for more than 840 million parcels in 41 country subsidiaries and partners at over 1600 locations.

What can you expect with us?

• Designing and architecting solutions for existing client facing applications as they are moved into cloud environments, such as, AWS


• Designing and building tools as well as frameworks that support deploying and managing our platforms


• Suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements


• Supporting and troubleshooting scalability, high availability, performance, monitoring, back-up and restores of different environments


• Ensuring critical system security through the use of best in class cloud security solutions


• System troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains


• Create, maintain and optimize automated build and deployment pipelines


• Work with Cloud Infrastructure team on Cloud migration of applications


• Act as enabler for other developers on Cloud migration

What do you bring to the table?

• Several years of experience as Cloud Engineer (m/f/d) in complex programs


• Strong experience with AWS


• Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform


• Experience with CDK; serverless is a Plus


• Advanced experience with Networking, Security and virtualization technologies


• Good English skills, both spoken and written


• Development background in Java as well as AWS Certification is a Plus


• Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and impact on company’s success
