GLS Germany is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design and architect cloud-based solutions, primarily around AWS, Kubernetes, and serverless tooling. You will drive deployment frameworks, implement secure cloud patterns, and collaborate across teams to migrate applications.

A strong development background in Java and English proficiency are valued. The role is based in Eschborn, Germany, with opportunities to shape cloud strategy in a fast-paced environment and travel as needed to support projects.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience as Cloud Engineer in complex programs.
• Strong experience with AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Experience with CDK; serverless is a plus.
• Advanced networking and virtualization knowledge.
• Good English skills, both spoken and written.
• Development background in Java; AWS Certification is a plus.
• Sense of ownership, team player, and willingness to travel abroad.

Responsabilités

• Design and architect solutions for client-facing apps moved to AWS.
• Design and build tools and frameworks to deploy and manage platforms.
• Suggest architecture and process improvements.
• Support and troubleshoot scalability, high availability, performance, monitoring, backups.
• Ensure cloud security using best-in-class cloud security solutions.
• Troubleshoot across platform and application domains.
• Create and optimize automated build and deployment pipelines.
• Work with Cloud Infrastructure on cloud migration of applications.
• Enable other developers on Cloud migration.

What can you expect with us?

• Designing and architecting solutions for existing client facing applications as they are moved into cloud environments, such as, AWS
• Designing and building tools as well as frameworks that support deploying and managing our platforms
• Suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements
• Supporting and troubleshooting scalability, high availability, performance, monitoring, back-up and restores of different environments
• Ensuring critical system security through the use of best in class cloud security solutions
• System troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains
• Create, maintain and optimize automated build and deployment pipelines
• Work with Cloud Infrastructure team on Cloud migration of applications
• Act as enabler for other developers on Cloud migration
