Job summary

Trusted Shops SE seeks a Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable AWS infrastructure. We offer hybrid work with Cologne office days and remote options from Berlin, in a permanent full-time role within our Legal Tech Services Team.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years on AWS, Terraform IaC, CircleCI, and scripting in Bash/TypeScript/Python, plus Docker, observability, and security experience to keep our cloud environment reliable and secure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing and operating AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Proficient with Terraform for IaC and CircleCI for CI/CD.
• Scripting skills in Bash/TypeScript/Python and Docker experience.
• Experience with monitoring/observability and cloud security best practices.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools in DevOps workflows.

To strengthen our Engineering Department, we are looking for a Cloud Engineer (f/m/d) Cologne (hybrid) or Berlin (remote) | Permanent Contract (Full-time) Join our Legal Tech Services Team, part of the Business Domain, where we build products that help online businesses stay legally compliant and protected.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Contribute to the introduction, deployment, and operation of new services and infrastructure capabilities across their lifecycle.
• Build and maintain reusable Infrastructure-as-Code components with Terraform and optimize CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling, primarily based on CircleCI.
• Help establish and evolve standards for monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
• Support cloud governance, AWS resource lifecycle management, cloud cost optimization (FinOps), and cloud security best practices.
• Apply AI-assisted and agentic engineering practices to improve automation, delivery speed, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in incident response and on-call rotations, while collaborating with internal teams and external hosting providers to ensure reliable operations and maintain supporting infrastructure.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience designing, building, and operating cloud infrastructure on AWS - such as ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, SQS, etc.
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code, ideally with Terraform.
• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation solutions, ideally with CircleCI.
• Solid scripting or software development skills in Bash, TypeScript or Python.
• Practical experience using AI‑assisted and agentic engineering tools in DevOps workflows, combined with the curiosity and ability to evaluate emerging AI capabilities.
• Experience with containerized environments using Docker and Amazon ECS.
• Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability concepts (e.g. CloudWatch, Instana), including troubleshooting across applications and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices, AWS governance, FinOps, and experience working with externally hosted environments, complemented by practical experience leveraging AI‑assisted engineering tools.
