SAP SE is seeking a Chief AI Product Expert for IndustryAI. You will shape the agentic platform strategy across BAIP, Industry Product & Engineering, LoB, and FDE engagements, delivering scalable AI and decision intelligence.

What you'll do

The Office of the CTO (oCTO) for IndustryAI sits at the intersection of the SAP Business AI Platform (BAIP), Industry Product & Engineering, the LoB application teams, and the FDE engagements with strategic customers. The AI Products team owns the agentic platform for IndustryAI: what BAIP must deliver, which patterns get standardized or industrialized, Identify which orchestrator agents are needed and how the compounding loop is built and operated so that FDE, industry and LoB products can ship AI reliably.

As Chief AI Product Expert, you lead through influence — a matrix leader who steers cross-organizational outcomes across customer, BAIP, Industry Product & Engineering, LoB, and FDE. You set the platform direction and jointly delivery highest-value Decision Intelligence, AI and agentic bets for IndustryAI, and you partner directly across Industry AI on what gets incubated next and how the compounding loop (traces, evals, harness, feedback pipelines) shows up as a working platform capability.

You shape platform strategy that spans years, not quarters, and are accountable for outcomes that affect large customer bases and multiple internal teams. Peers across BAIP, Industry Product & Engineering, FDE and LoB look to you for delivering scalable agentic AI, Decision Intelligence solutions.

In this role you will:

• Own the agentic platform strategy for IndustryAI end-to-end — define the multi-year platform vision, the productization path from FDE prototype to standardized platform capability, and what BAIP must deliver to make industry and LoB AI ship reliably.
• Lead as a matrix leader across BAIP, Industry Product & Engineering, LoB, and FDE — steering cross-organizational outcomes, agentic delivery, Decision Intellignece
• Lead large FDE engagements personally: go on-site with strategic customers, deliver 0-to-1 agentic prototypes, and codify what worked into reusable platform capabilities and automated workflows.
• Define the agentic platform requirements — orchestration, context, memory, tool, integration, skills, evaluations, guardrails, observability, trace capture, and feedback pipelines.
• Set the standard for how the compounding loop is instrumented across the team: what constitutes a good trace, what a domain reward signal looks like, how eval suites are versioned, and how field signal feeds back into the harness and the platform backlog.
• Shape and scale reusable product patterns: identify white-space across industries and LoB, define the recurring scenarios and scope, and lead incubation into the IndustryAI platform portfolio
• Own the measurement framework— adoption, quality, switching cost, business value — and use it to direct investment toward underused capabilities and away from low-leverage work.
• Mentor the team — set the bar for discovery, prototyping, evaluation, and shipping with AI, and coach peers on context engineering, AI output quality assurance, and agentic day-to-day practice, without owning line management.
• Establish frameworks for experimentation, measurement, and rapid AI-enabled decision making that the whole IndustryAI PM function adopts.
• Close the loop after release: capture learnings from FDE deployments and LoB rollouts and route them back into platform strategy, BAIP requirements, and the next incubation cycle.

What you bring

• Track record of shaping AI or platform product vision at scale and steering cross-organizational initiatives spanning multiple teams or business units.
• Proven matrix leadership: able to drive outcomes across peer organizations (platform, engineering, LoB, GTM) without formal authority — through influence, credibility, and clarity of thinking.
• Deep experience going from 0-to-1 on agentic AI platform capabilities in enterprise settings, and from 1-to-N in scaling them into standardized, reusable offerings.
• Hands-on fluency with modern agentic AI product practice: AI-assisted prototyping, automation of workflows, evaluations, and AI output quality assurance as part of day-to-day delivery.
• Demonstrated experience designing and operating agentic systems end-to-end: data products, orchestration, memory, tools, guardrails, observability, trace capture, and eval-driven iteration.
• Strong instinct for platform vs. product trade-offs — knowing what belongs in a shared platform such as BAIP and what belongs inside an industry or LoB application.
• Experience delivering agents on SAP's Business AI Platform (BAIP) or a comparable enterprise agentic platform.
• Comfort with automation and tooling as product outputs — building or commissioning the harness, dashboards, and pipelines that make the team faster between releases.
• Data fluency: able to derive platform direction from telemetry, traces, and evaluation results, and to defend portfolio decisions with evidence.
• 10+ years of professional experience in product management, product engineering, or AI/ML product roles, with a clear track record of operating at portfolio scope as an IC (no line management required).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or an industry-related discipline; advanced degree (MBA, MSc) is a plus.
• Domain fluency in 2 or more SAP-relevant areas (supply chain, finance, HR, procurement, or other LoB) is a strong plus.
• Strong understanding of SAP's end-to-end business processes in 1 or more domains.
• Executive presence — able to make the complexity of AI, agents, and platforms legible to executive audiences, customers, and partners.

We connect the BAIP to the industry vertical requirements and LoB applications customers use every day, and we pair that with a Forward Deployed Engineering muscle that ships AI outcomes with strategic customers. The AI Products team inside oCTO drives strategic customer discovery and prototyping 0 to 1, owns the agentic platform strategy for IndustryAI — what BAIP must deliver, which patterns get standardized, how the compounding loop is built and operated.

You will join a specialized team of AI product managers inside oCTO IndustryAI — a small group who pair market awareness, business, and technical fluency. The team's mandate is the compounding loop: every customer feeds traces, evals, and harness improvements back into the platform so IndustryAI products get better between releases and drives customer outcomes.
