Applus+ QPS is seeking a Certification Engineer for Ordinary Locations to join our team in Europe. The position can be based in Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy or Spain, with Germany as a preferred base.

You will lead technical certification projects, review tests, prepare certification reports and provide guidance to staff and clients to ensure compliance with applicable standards and accreditation criteria, including ISO/IEC 17065.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree in science, engineering, technology or related area or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years’ work experience with a Nationally accredited Certification Body in testing/certification roles.
• 3+ years in Ordinary locations processing related certification projects.
• Experience managing projects and communicating with clients and staff.
• Knowledge of accreditation criteria and ISO/IEC 17065.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out contract reviews and assist with quotes and admin tasks for certification projects.
• Act as the technical expert for Ordinary Locations projects and guide others.
• Review testing and evaluation reports from subcontract labs and ensure tests meet requirements.
• Prepare complete certification reports for sign-off by Certification Manager.
• Provide direction on standards, procedures and training to staff and labs.
• Assist QA with accreditation matters and internal audits.

At Applus+ QPS we offer Testing and Certification Services to US and Canadian standards and codes, as well as a variety of specialized services to European and International safety standards, such as CB Scheme Certificates, IECEx Scheme Certificates, ATEX Certificates and CE Marking.

Currently we are recruiting for a Certification Engineer for the Ordinary Locations departament to join our team in Europe. This position can be based in Germany, The Netherlands, France, Italy or Spain.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Carry out the required contract review and assist Customer Service in quote preparation and other administrative duties related to certification projects.
• Act as the technical expert in handling Ordinary Locations projects, and provide the required support, direction and guidance to others in this area.
• Review testing and evaluation reports generated by subcontract laboratory; ensure that all tests have been performed properly and accurately in accordance with the applicable requirements.
• Perform technical certification review of completed projects by subcontract laboratory as per company procedure and prepare complete certification reports for final review and approval by the Certification Manager.
• Provide direction and guidance to certification staff related to technical interpretations, procedures, processes, for Standards and Certification programs.
• Provide direction and guidance to laboratory staff related to test protocols, procedures, and interpretations.
• Provide staff training, mentoring and qualification for staff in technical areas as well as processes and procedures.
• Assist the QA department with matters related to accreditations and internal audits.
• Design and develop new certification procedures and improve existing procedures, as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in science, engineering, technology or related area; or equivalent in terms of education, training and experience.
• Minimum five years’ work experience with a Nationally accredited Certification Body in the capacity of testing engineer, certification project engineer, or other directly related experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of the job.
• Considerable knowledge of the Ordinary locations requirements with minimum 3 years’ work experience in processing related certification projects.
• Previous experience managing projects, interacting effectively with clients and other staff members, and documenting work in an effective manner.
• Good knowledge of applicable accreditation criteria and related standards such as ISO/IEC 17065.
