UL Solutions is seeking an Electronics Project Engineer (m/f/i) to lead Hazardous Locations projects, applying EN/IEC/UL 60079 standards. The role involves on-site work, coordinating with clients and laboratories, and delivering compliant test plans and reports.

Multiple locations are available with a full-time on-site arrangement. The candidate should hold an engineering or physics degree and have four years of related experience, with strong knowledge of HazLoc standards and project handling

Electronics Project Engineer (m/f/i) – Hazloc standards EN/IEC/UL 60079

Possible locations: Milan/Italy - Braunschweig/Germany or Warrington/UK

Work arrangement: On-Site (5 days per week in the office)

Responsibilities

• Independently manage projects in the Hazardous Locations (HazLoc) segment, develop a preliminary plan of investigation and determine project specifications such as cost, time, test plan and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data, and product construction. Projects may include regular travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites.
• Communicate with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures and requirements, convey project cost and negotiate completion date and sample requirements
• Act to address client concerns and to resolve client issues.
• Provide technical assistance to clients in reference to product inspection and follow-up services.
• Coordinate laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians, scheduling and reviewing work of Laboratory Technicians and support staff and establishing completion dates.
• Coordinate administrative aspects of project management and communicate project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports.
• Serve as Project Handler of record and may sign as Reviewer of record as assigned.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics from an accredited program plus four years directly related work experience.
• Knowledge in Hazloc standards EN/IEC/UL 60079
• Detailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline.
• Working knowledge of conformity standards in use in area of expertise.
• Demonstrated ability to apply project-handling concepts in use in area of expertise.
