Job description

As a future member of the ORTEC team in Germany, you will work closely with our (potential) customers to understand their day-to-day business processes, operational challenges, and goals. Together with Sales, Solution Architects, and the project teams, you will analyze requirements, qualify use cases, and develop tailored solution concepts around ORTEC’s optimization software. Since every organization brings unique conditions, you will prepare individual demos, presentations, and proposals—from the initial needs assessment through to the decision. You will guide prospective customers professionally through the presales process and ensure a structured handover to the project teams.

Your goal is to communicate the value of our solutions clearly and convincingly—grounded in expertise, close to real-world practice, and focused on measurable outcomes. Through thorough qualification, clear scope definition, your understanding of everyday work in healthcare, and a strong value proposition, you create the foundation for successful projects and high customer satisfaction. In doing so, you make a direct contribution to ORTEC’s growth in Germany and support sustainable improvements for employees, customers, and the environment.

Your responsibilities
  • Support the Sales team throughout the presales process - from the initial needs assessment through to the final proposal stage
  • Conduct discovery calls and workshops to qualify use cases, processes, and requirements (remote and on site)
  • Collaborate with decision-makers, business stakeholders, and IT to understand goals, risks, and success criteria
  • Advise on best practices and develop a compelling value proposition, including business case/ROI reasoning
  • Prepare and deliver product demos and support proof-of-concepts
  • Create proposals, presentations, and responses to tenders (RFP/RFQ) and ensure a structured handover to the project teams
  • Bring market and customer feedback (including competitive insights) to support the continued development of our solutions and go-to-market strategy
  • Support the project teams during proof-of-concept delivery and in the long-term support of customers
  • Depending on your existing knowledge, you will partly support implementation projects. This will help you gain practical knowledge of our solutions and customers, which is essential for advising prospects and customers effectively.
Who you are:

Excellent communication skills, enjoyment of working with customers, and a passion for creating real value

Experience with the challenges, opportunities, and potential within the German healthcare sector

Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly understand complex structures. E.g., finished a bachelor’s or master’s study related to IT, math, logistics; or alternatively, a degree in the healthcare field combined with experience in project work, process analysis, and/or IT applications

Enthusiasm for IT and the value it can create

Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively in an international environment

Creative and committed personality with a desire to contribute ideas and shape innovative solutions

Ideally, you are based in western Germany; the Bremen area would be a plus. The role has a hybrid working model, combining work from home, time at one of our offices, and visits to prospects and customers. Travel is an integral part of the role, so willingness to travel is essential. Particularly during the first months and up to the first year, we expect you to spend several days per month in the office to meet colleagues and become familiar with our solutions and processes.

You communicate natively in German and have sufficient English skills for day-to-day professional business.
