Job summary

HALO Bagels in Berlin is seeking a dedicated baker to join our diverse team. You will handle daily production of sourdough bagels, from shaping to baking, in a lively, international environment. We value teamwork, hospitality, and quality, with flexible hours and a modern, renovated bakery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of professional baking experience, ideally sourdough or artisan bread.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to follow processes.
• Strong teamwork and communication, energized by working with people.
• Passion for food and hospitality aligned with HALO brand.

Responsibilities

• Produce daily sourdough bagels and related baked goods with hand shaping, proofing, bathing, and baking.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in BOH according to regulations.
• Manage inventory with FIFO/FEFO, and assist with weekly orders.
• Grow with the business, potentially expanding to other pastries.

We are seeking a new team member to join our diverse and international team on our journey to becoming a beloved food brand in Berlin.

Tasks

• You're responsible for the daily production of all our sourdough bagel breads, including hand shaping, proofing, bathing and baking
• You're responsible for maintaining and carrying out cleaning tasks in the BOH, complying with operational hygiene standards as well as legal regulations
• You actively support your team members with food inventory following FIFO/FEFO, including storage control and weekly order planning
• As HALO continues to grow, your role may expand beyond bagel production to include other baked goods and pastry tasks, offering room to broaden your skillset over time

Requirements

• You have +1 year of professional baking experience, ideally with sourdough or artisan bread production and a strong desire to excel in your daily work.
• You’re able to work in a dynamic and growing environment, able to follow process and posses strong organizational skills.
• You’re naturally having a strong team spirit mindset, with excellent communication skills and getting energized by working with people
• You’re personally passionate about food & hospitality and feel fully connected with the HALO brand and the product to deliver top quality everyday
• You’re open to work flexible hours during weekdays and weekends, and have been already exposed to work in fast-paced environments
• You’re fluent in English, German is a plus
