Axel Springer is a digital publisher and media and technology company whose National Media & Tech division provides technology for its journalism and media brands. It builds data products supporting its media and advertising business, including services, pipelines, and modeled datasets used by product teams, analysts, and data scientists.

Задачи

Drive projects end to end, from clarifying problems and shaping solutions through scoping, implementation, testing, deployment, and operation

Build production services, pipelines, and data products in Go and Python, with clear interfaces, automated tests, and strong observability

Design schemas, data contracts, and domain models that evolve safely, handle late-arriving data, and answer business questions

Build data quality checks, lineage, freshness monitoring, and clear ownership into systems

Operate and improve systems, including incident response, reliability, performance, and cost efficiency

Collaborate with product, engineering, analytics, and data science teams to agree on priorities and resolve trade-offs

Support other engineers through mentoring, code reviews, and clear documentation

Требования

Senior-level experience delivering and operating production systems in a cloud environment Experience building production services in Go or another statically typed language, plus solid Python skills and the ability to work across the stack Strong software engineering fundamentals, including maintainable code, automated testing, API design, and observability Demonstrated ownership of projects from problem definition to production, including planning, technical decision-making, and delivery while maintaining engineering quality Experience with data modeling and reliable data processing, or strong transferable backend skills and the ability and motivation to develop that expertise Clear communication, effective collaboration with technical and nontechnical colleagues, and experience helping other engineers develop Ability to learn quickly, work through unfamiliar problems, and make practical trade-offs around reliability, performance, and cost Будет плюсом: experience building recommendation services, working with lakehouse platforms, or handling high-throughput processing; AWS or Palantir Foundry experience
