BIG PICTURE is seeking a backend software engineer to design and implement robust backend services and APIs in a multi-platform automotive project. You will work with Java 21, Spring Boot or Quarkus, and PostgreSQL, shaping architecture and production-grade solutions.

The role involves AI agent-enhanced workflows and close collaboration with customers. Office in Berlin-Kreuzberg with up to 50% home office; strong emphasis on system thinking, reliability, and maintaining code quality across

Qualifikationen

• Degree in computer science or software engineering, or comparable qualifications.
• Several years of professional backend development experience.
• Very good knowledge of Java and object-oriented development.
• Experience with modern Java versions; Java 21 is preferred.
• Professional experience with Spring Boot and/or Quarkus.
• Good knowledge of relational databases and data modeling, especially PostgreSQL.
• Experience with APIs and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of Linux, Docker, and CI/CD.
• Ability to independently design and implement technical solutions.
• Willingness to take responsibility from architecture through production operations.
• Experience in direct technical discussions with customers or business departments.
• Long-term daily use of coding agents or comparable AI tools; ideally for at least three years.
• Strong engineering skills, architectural understanding, systems thinking, technical judgment, and quality awareness.
