Job summary

avitea GmbH is seeking an Automation and Drive Systems Engineer (m/f/d) to join a growing plant and machinery engineering company in the southern Ruhr region. You will develop automation solutions for electric drives, translate project requirements into control concepts, size and configure components, and create PLC programs for process visualization.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or mechatronics or comparable technical qualification.
• Significant professional experience in industrial plant automation and electric drive technology.
• Proficiency with Siemens TIA Portal/S7, SINAMICS S120, and Profinet.
• Experience with control and application of single- and multi-motor drives.
• Knowledge of the rolling mill industry is a plus.
• Good command of English and a structured, independent work style.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

• Sizing, selection, and configuration of suitable components for the respective plant solutions
• Creation and customization of PLC programs and applications for process visualization
• Installation, parameterization, and technical commissioning of electric drive systems
• Conducting commissioning projects both domestically and internationally (travel approximately 25%)

What you should bring

• A degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or mechatronics, or a comparable technical qualification
• Substantial professional experience in the automation of industrial plants and in the field of electric drive technology
• Proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal/S7, SINAMICS S120, and Profinet
• Experience with the control and application of single- and multi-motor drives
• Knowledge of the rolling mill industry is a plus
• Good command of English, as well as a structured and independent work style
• Strong communication skills and a passion for working as part of a team
