Job summary

terralayr in Berlin is offering an Asset Operations Intern position. You will support the day-to-day operations of our growing BESS portfolio, bridging technical performance, commercial activities, and internal coordination.

You will onboard new assets, verify data accuracy, and assist with reporting and administration. This hands-on role provides steep learning and exposure to power-market processes in a fast-growing energy company.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related STEM field.
• Strong affinity for data; proficient in Excel/Google Sheets; basic Python or SQL is a plus.
• Fluency in German and English.
• Valid Class B driving license.
• Proactive, organized, and eager to learn about energy storage operations.

Responsibilities

• Operational Support: assist with day-to-day technical operations and maintenance coordination.
• Commercial management: help with invoice checks, OPEX controlling, and BKV management.
• Performance reporting: prepare monthly KPI reports (Availability, Cycles, Efficiency).
• Asset onboarding: onboard new assets and ensure accurate technical and contractual data.
• Administration: support general business operations and documentation.

What We Are Hiring For - Your Role

As our Asset Operations Intern (m/f/d), you support the day-to-day operations of our growing BESS portfolio, sitting at the intersection of technical performance, commercial operations, and internal coordination. You help keep our assets running reliably by supporting maintenance coordination, assisting with invoice checks and OPEX controlling, and building the reporting discipline that gives the team transparency on critical KPIs.

You will also take ownership of onboarding new assets into our systems, ensuring technical and contractual data is accurate and complete, and support general company management and administrative tasks where needed. This is a hands-on role with steep learning across battery operations, power market processes (incl. BKV interfaces), and how a high-growth energy company executes.

What You Will Work On - Your Responsibilities

• Operational Support: Support the daily technical operations and coordinate maintenance activities for our physical BESS portfolio.
• Commercial Management: Assist with invoice verification, OPEX controlling, and Balancing Responsible Party (BKV) management.
• Performance Reporting: Prepare monthly operations reports and track critical technical KPIs (e.g., Availability, Cycles, Efficiency).
• Asset Onboarding: Take ownership of onboarding new assets and maintaining accurate technical and contractual data in our systems.
• Company Management & Administration: Support general operational and administrative topics across the business, helping keep internal processes and documentation running smoothly.

What We Are Looking For - Your Qualifications

• Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial), Renewable Energy, or a related technical STEM field.
• Skills: Strong affinity for data; proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets is required. Basic knowledge of Python or SQL is a plus.
• Languages: Fluency in both German and English is required.
• Mobility: A valid Class B driving license.
• Mindset: Proactive, organized, and eager to learn about energy storage operations.
