In this role, you will act as a technical authority and trusted advisor for customers and internal account teams worldwide, supporting the definition and deployment of cost-efficient test solutions for next-generation electro-optical devices. The focus is on highly integrated silicon photonics and co-packaged optics transceivers tested on a leading automated test equipment platform.
This position combines deep technical expertise, customer-facing consultancy, and close collaboration with R&D and product management. It is well suited to engineers who enjoy working at the interface between technology, application, and customer value.
You will consult customers and internal account teams globally on the implementation of electro-optical test solutions for advanced transceiver devices, with a particular emphasis on silicon photonics and co-packaged optics.
You will design and implement test methodologies for the optical and electrical characterisation of silicon photonics components and integrated circuits used in co-packaged optics architectures.
You will identify and define emerging test requirements for electro-optical transceivers, aligned with industry trends such as silicon photonics and the growing adoption of co-packaged optics.
You will work closely with R&D and product definition teams to shape economically optimised test solutions for co-packaged optics devices.
You will prepare and deliver customer presentations, technical workshops, and benchmark projects in a pre-sales and solution-definition context.
You will support the global roll-out of new electro-optical and co-packaged optics test solutions to the worldwide customer base.
You will maintain an up-to-date understanding of developments in silicon photonics, co-packaged optics, optical technologies, and manufacturing test approaches.
You hold a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline, ideally with a focus on optics or opto-electronics.
You have proven hands-on expertise in optical measurement and characterisation of electro-optical devices, including the use of lasers, optical spectrum analysers, optical DSOs, power meters, switches, and attenuators.
You are experienced in working with fibre and connector assemblies, optical probing and handling equipment, and test automation environments.
You are familiar with Linux-based systems and programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, or MATLAB.
Experience with automated testing of CMOS devices, particularly on ATE platforms, is highly desirable.
You have a solid understanding of silicon photonics device architectures such as Mach-Zehnder interferometers, microring resonators, and couplers, including their dependencies on wavelength and polarisation.
You communicate confidently in English and are comfortable presenting complex technical topics to customers and internal stakeholders.
You bring strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills, combined with a proactive and self-driven working style.
You are comfortable working in cross-functional, international project teams and are willing to travel internationally up to approximately 20 percent.
You will join a globally recognised Center of Expertise working on next-generation electro-optical and co-packaged optics test solutions.
You will work closely with leading semiconductor and photonics customers at the forefront of silicon photonics and co-packaged optics.
You will collaborate with R&D and product teams on technically challenging and commercially relevant test solutions.
You will operate in an international environment offering long-term technical and professional development opportunities.
