ESMC represents our shared commitment to strengthening the European semiconductor ecosystem.

To help us build the foundation of our future fab in Dresden, we are looking for a highly motivated and passionate:

Advanced Quality Excellence Engineer

In this role you will play a central role in advancing our quality standards and ensuring operational excellence within our high-tech semiconductor manufacturing facility in Dresden. You will lead data-driven quality improvement initiatives, drive structured process change management, and perform in-depth analysis using statistical process control (SPC) systems. Your work will directly influence product quality, manufacturing stability, and efficiency, while offering exceptional exposure to global best practices and a strong platform for long-term professional and technical development in an international environment.

As part of this position, you will have the unique opportunity to complete a comprehensive 12-month training assignment at our mother fab in Taiwan. This immersive program equips you with deep hands-on expertise in manufacturing processes, quality systems, SPC frameworks, and change governance according to TSMC\'s world-leading practice — providing the foundation to operate independently and at expert level upon your return to Germany. The training will start shortly after the start date on October 1st, 2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • CONTINUOUSLY monitor wafer fabrication processes, (equipment parameters, manufacturing operations, incoming materials) and perform analysis of critical quality events and wafer quality indicators.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure consistent maintenance of daily routine quality tasks, including pre-checks and Change Control Board processes.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the AQES systems.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust manufacturing process controls through advanced Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies.
  • Champion the integration and promotion of statistical process control and intelligent process quality control knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of various quality systems related to wafer fabrication processes and facilities.
  • Apply process change management and risk control principles, including understanding FCCB-related engineering change systems.
  • Conduct KPI tracing and analysis, utilizing tools such as Ishikawa diagrams, to assess process performance.
  • Manage and maintain change-related systems, facilitating and documenting scheduled Change Control Board (CCB) meetings.
  • Coordinate and lead quality-related projects aimed at enhancing product quality, improving manufacturing efficiency, and boosting customer satisfaction.
  • Perform independent work during scheduled weekend on-call rotations and/or on-duty shifts with a sense of urgency.
Job Qualifications
  • WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Eligible to work in Germany
  • Fluent in English (C1 level), with basic German language skills (B1 level). Mandarin Chinese is a strong plus.
  • Motivated and available for "on-the-job" Training in Taiwan for 12 months.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Semiconductor Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or a related engineering field.
  • 1-6 years of relevant work experience; semiconductor experience and/or high-volume manufacturing is preferred.
  • Strong fundamental computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Office/Outlook.
  • Advanced data analytics skills (e.g., using Excel VBA, R, or similar tools); programming skills are preferred.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and design is an advantage.
  • Displays a positive attitude and proficiency in collaborating within a team.
  • Flexible and open-minded to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
