We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The Role

Applications are sought from highly motivated individuals for an Advanced Practice Podiatrist (orthopaedics) within the largest Podiatry service in Scotland. The post is based across orthopaedics service in NHS GGC, managed by the Hosted podiatry service.

The post holder will provide specialist and complex assessment, review and interventions for a high risk and complex caseload managed by podiatry and working collaboratively within the orthopaedic specialist area providing pre-surgical and post-surgical consultation, investigation, intervention and care. They will also provide education and support within the scope of their specialism to the podiatry service and beyond. The role incorporates assessment, advanced investigations, complex diagnosis, management and treatment planning. There will be pre and post-operative involvement, discussing the risks and benefits of surgery and listing where appropriate. The post holder will lead and implement change management through their assigned service area and will be required to assist in the development of other clinicians and able to demonstrate leadership.

The Podiatry Service delivers high-quality care to patients and their carers thorough the provision of triage, assessment, diagnosis and treatment to a diverse range of conditions and patient types in a variety of environments.

The service is patient centred, and needs led with clinical assessment and diagnosis leading to management plans tailored to meet the needs of individual patients. There is a focus on rehabilitation with a self-care element included in treatment plans where appropriate.

Excellent communication skills, high levels of motivation, self-discipline and an ability to demonstrate caring and compassion are essential to this role.

• This post is full time, but applications from individuals wishing part-time hours will be considered.
• Working Pattern is Monday - Friday
